Default Building Salamanders

This is what I currently have. I am working on another Tac squad right now. I'm at 875 points.

Vulkan

Scout squad - BP and combat blades
Sgt - PF, combi-melta, Locater Beacon

Land Speeder Storm - MM

Tac Squad - ML, MG
Sgt - PF, combi-flamer
Razorback - Lascannon, TL plasma, hunter killer missile

Ironclad Dread - 2 hunter killers, HF, MG
Drop Pod

The basic plan is the scouts move in with the storm pull the DP in. Combat squad the tac squad. Hold one objective and take a second.

When I finish the second tac squad I will be at about 1100 points. Ideas on what to add next toward 1500 points?

First, let me Welcome a fellow Salamander!

I would add a third Tactical Squad. Generally I find three to be a good number. I suggest the following, in some form or another:

Transports for Tact squads, Rhino or Drop Pod
Terminators. I used all TH and SS, because of Vulkan.
I absolutely love Sternguard. I swear by them.
Another element I use, mostly because of fluff, is assault squads. Its just the Salamanders way. I'd stay away from Vanguard though, they are only a CC squad.
If you go Terminators, Land Raider Redeemer is great.
Tanks! Predators mostly.....

Enjoy!

PS: Excellent paint job btw! Love the flames!

As an FYI: Fluff wise, all Salamanders are Onxy Black skin with red eyes. I noticed you have a few that have white. Not a big deal, just didn't know if you knew that!

"It would be disappointing if you were unable to overcome this simplest of defenses. Hilarious, but disappointing."

40k
Crimson Fists (C:SM)
Necrons
Khorne Daemonkin

Other
WARMAHORDES (Skorne, Blindwater Congregation, Retribution of Scyrah)
DROPZONE COMMANDER (PHR)

Scouts can't take a LB (), and you're better off with HF and combi-flame on the scouts and storm. Rest looks good. Good hunting.

looks quite good(Fantastic painting) i would suggest a Heavy flamer for the Land Speeder Storm as it removes the poor BS that plages them however a MM will be a good alternative(you slamanders after all you should spam flamers and melta's)
For going up to 1500pts i would suggest Thunder hammer Termintors. Once agian Salamders love Thunder hammers and they can be devistaing...however i would also suggest a Landraider redeemer but you won't be able to fit both into the 400pts you have left, so taking on or the other or maybe droping something else to get them in.

@Raptors8th the scout srg can have a locator beacon (just checked in my codex)

as jaws suggests i would go with a flamer on LS storm due to low bs

i would consider a transport for Vulkan (he is a CC monster and u need to get him fast to fight) LR is a good choice but it would be hard to fit it in 1500 points
but for higher point games Vulkan with TH/SS termies in LR w/MM should be a thing to consider

i do not know how it is fluff wise but LS w HF/MM seems to be very powerful with Vulkan -> u could get 2 of those and still have 260 for another tac squad and transports

just my two cents

great job painting

id go with 1 squad of 2 ls with mm-hf there very brutal
id also drop the hunter-killer off the razor and then you would have enough for this;
10 tact with mg, pfist, rhino + 1 extra rhino for your second tact squad
just my 2 cents, btw wicked paint scheme

Durian out

As the great poet Ice Cube once said, if the day does not need an A-K, it is good.
