Ok I have never played with a vindicator (but have seen one) but the points difference is:

Predator: 85 pts
-HB spons

Vindicator: 115 pts

But like you said it is a large blast instead of six str. 5 shots and two str. 7 shots. its really up to you on the change. I would go for the Predator
because it can't scatter like crazy. Lol.

As Betawing pointed out, a vindicator is a bit more expensive than the dakka predator you want used in your first list.

However, working with putting one in a 500 point list, I'd suggest the following:

Scout squad
1x Additional scout; 6x camo cloaks; 1x heavy weapon

Tactical squad
Powerfist; combi-flamer

Total: 496

At five hundred points, shifting them around for any unit is going to mean depleting numbers elsewhere. This list sacrifices a full tactical squad in favour of making use of that vindicator. You still have the heavy armour of the vindicator as well as a transport to get the combat squad and librarian around while maintaining a small firebase of sniper scouts with a heavy weapon. If you do want to go the vindicator route, the above list is my suggestion to you.

Damnation is paved on good intentions; subtle and sugar coated or blunt and honest

Popularity is what people strive for when they lack the strength to be themselves.

Seriously, is it really that hard to write reviews without spoilers?

Great 500 point list Darkreever! I'm going to try this list this weekend. It will give me fire to finish this sniper scout squad that I'm painting right now. This looks like a great Crimson fist army.

Until the Loki sector is free or we become extinct on Rynn...the Crimson Fists fight on in his grace's name.

Some links to ongoing painting logs covering space marines, orks, vampire counts and new small Warmachine Cryx project. Not to mention some pics of previously owned High Elves:

I tested out my 3 lists as well as dark reavers and a couple others and his was one of the most effective the other one that was effective was

Tack squad 10 man flamer launcher

scout snipers with 5 camo cloaks telion and launcher

whirlwind + stormbolter

On the 48 inch boards that we're using the snipers and whirlwind can hit anywhere on the board first round and do some fairly large damage though there is a very small amount of tank killing it beat lizzy's nids up and down the table.
