Default Assault Army - Close Combat Kings???

i have some upcoming matches against tyranid, ork and chaos opponents, and have chosen to take a novel approach by trying to best them all in close combat with this fighty army:

HQ

Marneus Calgar + Honour Guard
Chaplain in Terminator Armour
Chaplain in Assault Armour
Librarian in Terminator Armour
Chapter Champion with Force sword
Assault Champion (Counts as Captain Shrike)

Elites

8 vanguard veterans
8 vanguard veterans
10 sternguard veterans
8 veteran marines
8 veteran marines
8 close combat terminators
8 close combat terminators

Troops
10 tactical marines with drop pod, sergeant with power fist
10 tactical marines with drop pod, sergeant with power fist
8 grey knights

Fast Attack

8 assault marines, sergeant with power fist
8 assault marines, sergeant with power fist
8 assault marines, sergeant with power fist

Heavy Support

2 dreadnoughts with assault cannon + close combat weapon
Land Raider Redeemer
Predator with twin linked lascannons and side mounted lascannons
Land Raider

Obviously this army isn'y balanced correctly - me and my mates don't abide by all the rules
The HQ are with other squads - Assault champion joins one of the Vanguard Veterans; Chaplain with Jump Pack joins other; Terminator Chaplain joins one squad of terminators; Terminator Librarian joins other terminator squad.
Calgar rides in the Land Raider Redeemer, Terminator Chaplain's Terminator Squad ride in Land Raider.
Tell me what you think - can i match them in close combat???
What models do i need - some more heavy firepower? or maybe some special units - i have an Imperial LIghtning from Forgeworld - should i include this?

I think this is only a viable list if you are playing Apocalypse games with it. How many points does it all add up too?

Veteran Marines are no longer in the codex, its only Sternguard and Vanguard now. The Dreads are not Heavy support anymore they are elites, unless they are grey knight dreads. I also assume that "assualt armor" means they have a jump pack? Force weapons are also only usable by Psykers so your Champ can't use it to its fullest extent, aside from the fact he can't equip one in the codex anyway.

So what type of game are you playing here? Cause you're running like a 4k points army or so.

A. Only Librarians get force weapons.
B. If annihilation, thats great, if not, you've got a minimum of scoring units.
C. If it isnt Apocalypse, you've got too many choices in your elites category, as well as HQ category.
D. What Wusword77 said.

Based on your list and its non-codex FOC, I am presuming that the Ork, Tyranid & Chaos will have lists that are similarly un-balanced. In that case I think it might be nearly impossible to give you advice as to what you may need to add or change. You could be facing Orks that are all nob mobs with power claws, or tyranids made up of 20 Monstrous Creatures and 10 large herds of genestealers. Do you play Apocalypse or just don't bother with points costs and other minor rules?
