Default 2000pt White Scars - Viable?

So i was just kicken around on my army builder, and was wondering what you thought of this list. Is it viable? competitive? and seeing as i just got into air brushing, a white army is actually paintable for me now. does it have enough armour punch, volume of attacks for hordes and the anti-air needed. tell me what you think.


Khan w/ moondrakken - 150pts
Command w/ Apoth, 2x Combi-Flamers, Fist, Banner, Bikes - 210pts

5 Bikes w/ 2 grav guns, fist, att. bike w/ MM - 225pts
5 Bikes w/ grav gun - 130pts
5 Bikes w/ 2 meltas, fist, att. bike w/ MM - 215pts
5 Bikes w/ 2 meltas - 135pts
5 Bikes w/ 2 meltas - 135pts
5 Bikes w/ melta - 125pts

StormTalon w/ skyhammer - 125pts
StormTalon w/ skyhammer - 125pts
StormTalon w/ skyhammer - 125pts

TFC w/ gunner - 100pts

drop the flamers give these guy the grav guns can have more

as with this

a few thoughts as a full revenwing player..small units make it more efficient..more target to shoot at killing 3 guys is better than a whole squad.
i would drop a talon and maybe a TFC and tack a Stormraven with bolter for the Stormwing formation.
the added punch really helps with the bikes
but a white scars army by itself is pretty good so go with it..bike armies are not very forgiving when it goes bad....it GOES REALLY BAD! takes a bit to get the skill of an all bike army but when you do they are soooooo much fun

I set up the combat squading so that each squad has a roll. ranged and melee. effectively giving me 8 squads. 4 ranged, 4 melee.

I like your list I run White Scars. I don't run THC because they are to static for me. I do have 1 scout squad but thats to hold home objective. For 2k I add in a land raider redeemer because that's what I have. When I get a second talon it will replace the land raider. I have found that depending on the army you face is what size you want your bike squad. Horde Armies I split them up to give more targets in shooting. My list looks like this at 1750.

I was just never a big fan of speeders. they can be gunned down with bolter fire. I do like the storm wing formation so they all come in on 1 roll, not leaving anything out.

The TFCs are static, but will provide much needed long range support that can deal with large numbers.

That's true too! I have never been a fan of THC so to each their own. It is a nice list and will work well. I run the speeders all 3 in a squad so if I go first I ca lay down a lot of missile fire into horde armies but the THC ca do that. I also use my speeders as fire magnets if they survive after the first round. Maybe I will try out a THC if I can borrow one I'm not buying it if I only use it once.

Everything has its ups and downs. Unfortunately i think in such a low model count army you cant have much in the way of fire magnets, or throw away units. This list should be able to sustain some casualties, but it needs to get into combat or stay hidden, with Khans special rules and correct movement, i should be able to keep the bikes alive.

As far as I know with bikes they have to be a combat squad at 5 bikes and 3 bikes with an attack bike. I don't know if you have 8 bikes plus attack or attack is included if it's included it has to be a whole squad to combat squad it if it is not part of the 8 bikes listed then you have the right number of bikes but miscounted in the description. So to combat squad it should look like 5 bikes (with fist)/3bikes (2 grav guns) w/ attack bike.

oh yeah. alright. well still. id combat squad them:

2x special weapon, attack bike, normal bike / 4 bikes and fist bike

still keeping it melee squad and CC squad

or would it be better to spilt the special weapons?
