Default Blood Angels "Descent of Angels" Army List 2500

Hey all!

WarHammerman here with an idea that's been floating around in my head.


So, here is is!
2500 points
single FOC


Commander Dante [Warlord?]
x5 Sanguinary Guard (Angelus Boltguns + Glaives & Death Masks) + Chapter Banner
+ x1 Sanguinary Priest w/ Plasma Pistol, Power Maul, and Jump Pack


The Sanguinor [Warlord?]
Assault Squad (of 10) x2 Plasma Pistols, Sarge w/ Plasma Pistol & Power Sword (+ Combat Shield)
+ x1 Sanguinary Priest w/ Plasma Pistol, Power Maul, and Jump Pack


Tactical Squad (of 10) x1 Plasma Gun, x1 Plasma Cannon,
Sarge w/ Sarge w/ Plasma Pistol & Power Sword
+ Brother Corbulo
+ Land Raider Redeemer w/ Flamestorm Cannons, TL-Assault Cannons, Extra Armor, and Multi-Melta

Death Company
x5 w/ Jump Packs, Boltguns and Chainswords
x1 Lemartes
+ Death Company Dread w/ Blood Talons (Meltagun & Heavy Flamer)
+ Stormraven Gunship w/ TL-Assault Canons, TL-Multi-Melta, Hurricane Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armor



The idea is that I'll select which half to keep in reserve each round - since everything can (either through virtue of Jump Packs, or a Deep Striking Land Raider.)

I plan on deploying Dante and his Guard, Sanguinore and his Assault Squad - leaving the Stormraven, Deathcompany, and the Tac-Squad in reserve, most of the time.


FNP all around - from the priests - or Death Company-ness.


So, there we go.

You're wasting alot of points on Plasma Pistols. At best, those are giving you a single S7 shot before you hit the charge... and you'd be better off throwing those points into more power weapons, assuming you'll be in combat more than at that one shot range.

I see 4 units and 2 transports for the whole army... in 2500 points that's not much at all. Only 3 of those score. And even with FNP, you'll probably go down to massed fire before you do enough damage.

You have very little anti tank, only 3 MM, so I'd try to get melta guns into some of your jump packs. If you lose the Raven, you've lost your only AA, and 1/3 of your anti tank.

Okay I don't play BA but... I know that is way to much plasma and not enough melta, as for
AA if remove the power weapons and plasma weapons on the Priests (Thats alot of points into one model with one wound whose sole existence is to give FNP and Furious Charge).
As I was saying you should have enough for an Aegis Line with Quad Gun, as I said I don't know this army but I know the Sanguinor is a HUGE points sink and should be taken as the sole HQ or not at all (Nearly 300 Points!) Moving on to troops, same thing, too many plasma weapons, Sanguinary Priests are 60 Points for expensive than they should be. Back to HQs you have 500 Points in them and if Dante has a powerful special rule that is game changing or effects the whole army then remove the Sanguinor. Back again to troops (sorry if this is hard to read I have no idea how to Split the Quotes into bits)
Tactical squad seems out of place and, I don't know almost forced with removing these you could get a devastator which would be good add an ablative wound to it to man the Gun on the Aegis. Anyway I hope you find my advice helpful bye

its better, but you are still spending too much on upgrades

don't put tacticals in LRR as they can not shoot and assault

instead of a priest (bells and whistles) for example you could up the squad to 10

Plasma pistols are one of the most hated upgrades out their as its 1 shot, can kill you, is 15 points and is no better then a free bolt pistol in combat (HF are probably better though really only for T3 opponents)

tweaks to list

- swap tactical with HQ to a DC squad (you don't need to give them much to be good and can just use same models)

- swap other tactical to assault squad if possible as they are actually cheaper given LRR is 35 points less (you could just start this on the board and put a squad from SR in the LRR

- drop atleast 1 priest to free up 105 pts I think

- use 1-3 drop points and take some of those models out of SR (most enter T1) and don't suffer a S10 hit if SR blows up (Ideally SR are just gun boats) (use cups or something similar if you don't want to buy DP's)

Had some more feedback, and dropped some of the crazy crap.


Here is the latest attempt!

- 1 with TL-AC, Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Dozer Blade & PM-SB
- 1 with Flamestorm, Heavy Flamers, Dozer Blade & PM-SB

x2 Stormraven Gunships
- Las-Cannons, Multi-Meltas, Bloodstrike Missiles, Hurricane Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armor & Locator Beacon

x2 Furioso Dreads (carried on Stormravens)
- Blood Talons, Meltagun & Heavy Flamer

Tactical Squad (10-man) (carried on Stormraven)
- Meltagun, Multi-Melta
- Sarge w/ Boltgun & Power-weapon (i lean towards Swords) + Melta-Bomb

Commander Dante [Warlord] (carried on Stormraven)
Sangunary Guard (carried on Stormraven)
- Death Masks, Angelus Boltguns & Glaives

And a Skyshield Landing Platform


So, here is the idea:

So I have 5 scoring squads (3 assault, 1 tac, 1 Sanguinary)
Everything is either fast or deep-striking. That wich deep strikes can either use the landing pad, or the locator beacons on the Stormravens.

Please let me know what you think =D

I think you are just pulling our legs now; come on why would you take melta pistols over melta's and put dante in a transport (he drops where you want)

This is pretty much what I think of this list:


Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.
