Default 1850 White Scars bike list

So. This is a themed list that i am considering. im new to 6th edition, so this will probably not be that competitive, however what i am after is comments and possible ammendments in keeping with the white scars bike / fast army theme.

Kor'sarro Khan (205)
on Moondrakkan

Command Squad (385)
on Bikes, 4 x Thunder Hammer, 4 x Storm Shield

8 x Space Marine Bikes (310)
Sgt - Combi-Plasma, 2 x Plasma Gun, Attack Bike - MultiMelta

8 x Space Marine Bikes (310)
Sgt - Combi-Plasma, 2 x Plasma Gun, Attack Bike - MultiMelta

5 x Space Marine Bikes (175)
Sgt - Melta Bombs, 2 x Plasma Gun

Stormtalon Gunship (155)
Skyhammer Missile Launcher

Stormtalon Gunship (155)
Skyhammer Missile Launcher

Stormtalon Gunship (155)
Skyhammer Missile Launcher

Total = 1850

the plan is to split the two large bike squads into combat squads to give lots of tactical flexibility. im wondering if 3 stormtalons is too many though. i was thinking about an infantry squad in drop pod or perhaps landspeeders.

any thoughts on changes?

cheers guys
steve

A bike list with now MM attack bikes?! I think you could get a couple in there if you dropped a Stormtalon. I would also say that you will need some more bikes. Preferably another big one, with meltaguns.

You can drop a storm talon and 3 t.hammers make them power swords on the command. This gives you 200 points for more bikers and an attack bike. I don't leave home with out my scouts and telion as home objective holders with my bike with list

I have had a lot of fun adding in a Techmarine or 3 - on bikes.
Their Servo Harness is HUGELY useful. Plasma Pistol, Flamer (for overwatch?) and 2 S8 attacks at I1. Not to mention whatever else you gear them out in.
Or - take a ForgeFather and take a Conversion Beamer... his speed can keep him nice n far away.

I'm in the process of choosing my own bike force at the moment, just 1000pt at the moment, and plan it to be something like these lists: https://www.heresy-online.net/forums/...d.php?t=121690

Now I love attack bikes, so i'd always try and get one in every squad I take. Mobile heavy firepower and able to take a wound for the squad is great. If you must keep 1850pts then maybe drop 1 bike from each 8 man squads and add an attack bike to the small unit.

Another question is why must you take 2 large squads and split them? Could you not take 4 small squads and have the same effect - Just with more heavy and special weapons?

Will you use khans ability to outflank? If not then I'd seriously consider a standard captain, losing combat tactics hurts. Also Khan is a little pricey.

Lastly I don't know about the Command Squad, that is a lot of points to put in one unit. But I don't know on this perhaps you need a dedicated CC unit.

Hope some of that might be useful.

Sorry forgot to add, if you are playing objectives in difficult terrain or up some stairs, obviously some foot troops will be needed. Just depends what you are playing.

The reason to take the large squad and split is so that you can respond to the mission type.

The large squad is better overall for a kill points game and then you can split them for other games if you need more squads.

However, the advantage to taking the smaller squads is that you can get more attack bikes.
