2000pt Ultramarines

Here is another list. Thought it might be a tad different then a usual vanilla marine list. Just something im toying with. How effective do think it would be? what would you do different?

HQ:
Chapter Master w/ Relic Blade, Storm Shield, Melta Bombs, Artificer Armour - 190pts
I focused this army around ranged tactics, but still need a CC hammer. so him coupled with the honor guard hopefully will satisfies this.

Honour Guard w/ Chapter Banner, TH, x4 power swords - 225pts
Goes with chapter master in LR.

Troops:
10 Tac Marines w/ Flamer, ML, power sword, melta bombs - 190pts
10 Tac Marines w/ Flamer, ML, power sword, melta bombs, rhino - 225pts
10 Tac Marines w/ Melta, ML, power fist, rhino - 235pts
the rhinoless squad will combat squad and do whatever as needed. The other squads will carry out their tasks, flamer unit goes after troops, melta squad goes after armour or MCs
Scout Squad w/ x4 Sniper Rifles, ML, cloaks - 100pts
Home objective holder.

Fast Attack:
Attack Bike w/ MM - 50pts
Attack Bike w/ MM - 50pts
paired up, ive found these make great armour hunters
Storm Talon Gunship w/ Typhoon ML, TL Assault Cannon - 155pts
Not 100% sold on this thing. its armour sucks, but i need anti-air support. i would just hide him until aircraft appear. if the opponent dosent have one, then maybe just another armour hunter. Yea or Ney? i could get another attack bike and maybe get a AA gun? or something else?

Heavies:
Devestator Squad w/ x3 Plasma Cannons - 165pts

ive always had luck with these. perfect group up. opponent will do one of two things, avoid it all together, or try and kill it all together. either way, ive never had an opponent look too kindly on dealing with it. It kills termies and is blast, so handles hordes, or even pop light armour.
Land Raider w/ x2 TL Lascannons, TL HB - 250pts
Carries Grand Master and honour guard. its ultramarines, gotta have a LR. you know what it does. unless theres a better way to transport the unit. can codex marines take a storm raven? is that better. i could get rid of the storm talon. thoughts?

Honour Guard are crap. Extremely overpriced. Not that great of a unit.

I usually run my devastator squads with 4 missile launchers but that's just me :p

I really think land raiders, though great survivability (still) don't have that much punching power. I really only see the Land Raider Redeemer being a good choice. If its going to transport the Honour Guard and Chapter master, DEFINITELY put it in a Land Raider Redeemer.

I'd get rid of the attack bikes, as they don't have much place in this list, and try and find some points for another storm talon. The unit is FANTASTICO!

huh.... wow, i can't believe this is still up. LOL. this list has actually changed drastically since this was posted. I still welcome all C&C on it. let me know what you think

I tried to keep this list all encompassing. A good solid mix of shooting and CC. all the tac squads are alittle different so they can act accordingly when needed. i find 2 units of stern guard with PCs work really well with the special ammo. The attack bike was just 50 points i couldnt fit elsewhere. i figure depending on the mission either a unit of sternguard or the rhinoless tac sqd will man the gun. I took the libby vs a chappy/captain/GM for a few reasons. Against a horde army avenger will come in handy when charging head strong into 30 mushrooms. Once the battle is over (pending whos turn it is) i can GoI and GTFO so my termies are not raped completely. Id love o hear what you think!
