Advice on Space wolf amy.

Hello Heretic readers!

I currently have 2500 Orks and 3500ish of Red Scorpions and most other races are taken by my fellow gamers and Space Wolves have great models and cool fluff.

I am looking to start a space wolf army, i love all the models and will read more into fluff soon as i get the Codex. What i am asking from you guys is your opinion on a "fun and fluffy" list/setup for my new army. Not looking to do a murderously nasty tournament list.

Thanks for any feedback.

Have fun with 6th edition gamers!

Logan wing army's seem kool , The Great Wolf lets you take wolfgard as a troop choice and they have really great options to load them out with. If I was going to do one I'd make a few packs of them with terminator armor and add some greyhunter packs, prolly two one with plasma the other with a meltagun or two and have a crazed pack of blood claws with a wolfpriest. For fluff. Then you have all the other kool things in the codex there are to play with. I'm still verry new at the game and really have no idea what works great but I have seen some really killer Loagan wing lists out there.

loganwing certaintly is looking like a good prospect for sixth ed., but if you have the mind to spend a lot of money, and just play for fun, you can always spam land raiders. you can have up to 15 land raiders in a SW army list (6 as DTs for troops, 3 in Elites, FA, and HS), and at low point levels, they can make your army impossible to kill.

If you want fluffy, take blood claws or sky claws and their requisite Wolf Priest. Theyre extra wolfy and no one will accuse you of powergaming if you bring them. Lone wolves are also fun, I reccommend having both a PA and TDA version with dogs. As far as starter units go, I recommend one full squad of GH with all the wargear potential; there's a reason everyone thinks they're the best. They get shit done. Long fangs are also a solid choice, getting all the MLs is tough, but if you want fluffy, bring the variety pack. I also recommend Fenrisian wolf packs. They are rarely fielded, but quite fun. I hook mine up with Wolf Priests and make a "wall of wolf" then cut them loose in a frezied assault.

Hey guys,

To start off i got 6th edition today and want a new project just to add more reason to play 40k, so my first idea of a "small" fun army went out the window .

Thanks loads for the advice and ideas. My red scorpion army has land raiders vindicators rhinos assault troop and sternguard etc etc.

Sooo, ive decided to go with a full troop army. My favorite looking HQ units, Scouts, GH BC Packs, terminators fenrisian packs and long fangs.

Also with this setup i can mix it up a little and make some wolf guard leaders/lone wolfs with the left over parts from the kits.

SPACE WOLF ARMY LIST.

**HQ**

LOGAN GRIMNAR - 275

ULRIK THE SLAYER - 180

RUNE PRIEST - 165
PLASMA PISTOL
MASTER OF RUNES

**ELITE**

5 WOLF GUARD TERMINATORS - 215
POWER FIST
CHAINFIST
ASSAULT CANNON

6 WOLF GUARD TERMINATORS - 458
HEAVY FLAMER
ARJAC ROCKFIST.
AS ARMED.

10 WOLF SCOUTS - 180
MELTAGUN
POWER WEAPON

**TROOPS**

10 GREY HUNTERS - 185
PLASMA GUN
WOLF STANDARD
POWER WEAPON

10 GREY HUNTERS - 235
MELTA GUN
WOLF STANDARD
POWER FIST
DROP POD

10 BLOOD CLAWS - 210
FLAMER
POWER FIST
DROP POD

**FAST ATTACK**

5 FENRISIAN WOLF PACK - 40

5 FENRISIAN WOLF PACK - 40

5 FENRISIAN WOLF PACK - 40

**HEAVY SUPPORT**

5 LONG FANGS - 145
MISSILE LAUNCHER X2 \
LASCANNON X2

-----maybe mixed up so both have one of all weapons

5 LONG FANGS - 125
PLASMA CANNON X2 /
HEAVY BOLTER X2

TOTAL ------------ 2493 ---------------

Once i get to this point ill add drop pods for the terminators. This is just a rough idea of a mainly infantry based army but more ideas are welcome.

Thanks again and happy gaming!
