Default 1500 Points of Fiery Lizards !

FFS Firey ! .... never mind

Ok so this is my first crack at putting a unit together.

I decided to concentrate of ranged fire power but still had some guys for the close in stuff

Keen to hear some feedback.......

Salamander Company
Total Roster Cost: 1500

HQ
1 Space Marine Chaplain in Power Armour + Jump Pack
1 Forgefather Vulkan He'stan

1st Close Assault Squad
1 Dreadnought + Assault Cannon
4 Terminators, 1 x Assault Cannon
1 Sergeant

2nd Tactical Squad
9 Tactical Squad SM + Flamer + Multi-Melta
1 Sergeant, + Melta Bombs + Power Weapon

3rd Tactical Squad
9 Tactical Squad SM + Flamer + Multi-Melta
1 Sergeant, + Melta Bombs

6th Tactical Squad
9 Sternguard Veteran Squad SM, + Combi-Flamer x9
1 Sergeant,+ Melta Bombs + Combi-Flamer + Power Weapon

9th Hvy Support Squad
4 Devastator Squad SM, + Heavy Bolter x4
1 Sergeant, + Power Weapon + Signum

base cost 25 + Melta Bombs 5) + Combi-Flamer x1 5 + Power Weapon x1 15
dont put the point costs for upgrades

Yeah, before any comments you're going to have to take the itemized points off the list. Heresy doesn't want to get in trouble with GW for listing upgrade prices.

Little iffy here, chaplains are mainly close combat based, i think a librarian might have a bit more utility on the tabletop for you
1 Forgefather Vulkan He'stan
What salamander army doesn't have this guy
1st Close Assault Squad
1 Dreadnought + Assault Cannon
not bad, but remember vulkan's ability to twin-link melta, so you may be better off trying to squeeze in a drop pod and giving this guy a multi-melta
4 Terminators, 1 x Assault Cannon
1 Sergeant
Vulkan master crafts thunder hammers, so i would take full advantage of that by making this a Thunder Hammer Storm Shield unit
2nd Tactical Squad
9 Tactical Squad SM
1 Sergeant, + Melta Bombs + Power Weapon
Again, try taking advantage of vulkan's ability by putting a melta into your tactical squads

3rd Tactical Squad
9 Tactical Squad SM
1 Sergeant, + Melta Bombs
see above
6th Tactical Squad
9 Sternguard Veteran Squad SM, + Combi-Flamer x9
1 Sergeant,+ Melta Bombs + Combi-Flamer + Power Weapon
This squad should have a drop pod to take full advantage of all those twin-linbked flamers, and i would give the sergeant a power fist
9th Hvy Support Squad
4 Devastator Squad SM, + Heavy Bolter x4
1 Sergeant, + Power Weapon
The army is lacking a small bit in anti-tank, so i would try giving these guys missile launchers and drop the power weapon

Arrr, my bad, forgot to add in that my Tac Squads have Flamers and MM's.

Thanks for your tips there your Exalted Highness, I don't see the utility of a drop pod?

first turn deployment right next to their most expensive vehicle with a rerollable multi melta right into the back/side armor
