Default Salamanders 1750pt Competative

Ok, I'm writing this from memory, with a hangover. So there will be mistakes.

He'stan

Librarian - Smite, Null Zone

7x TH/SS Termies
LR Crusader

Sternguard x7
All with Combi Meltas
Drop pod

Sternguard x7
All with Combi Meltas
Drop pod

Tactical Squad
Sgt - PF
Metlta
Multi Melta
7x Normal guys
Drop pod

Tactical Squad
Sgt - Combi Flamer
Flamer
Rocket Launcher
7x Normal guys
Rhino

Think that's around 1750. Basic stuff, Sternguard drop in pop stuff open and the big He'stan, librarian, Termi squad kills it. Troops can drop where need, then combat squad if need, Rhino squad can hang back on objectives and offer support. Against hord lists stuff can hang back in terrain and shot with all those lovely different types of ammunition.

Feed back welcome.

2 troop choices at 1750/2000 is pretty risky. Cut the termies down to 5x and give them a redeemer w/ MM. Then perhaps cut the sternguards down to 5x (CMx4/PF/CF/DP) and maybe stick vulkan and libby with 1 squad each or keep them with the termies like you have atm (flexibility). That would give you points to nab a scout sniper squad to camp rear (cloaks/SRx4/ML/MB). Theres points left over to fully kit both tactical squads properly as 1x (MG/MM/PF/CM/Rhino) and 1x (Flamer/ML/PF/CF/Rhino). Rhinos are really better for tactical squads.

Hope this helps and GL.

Thanks for the feed back, really need 3 drop pods so the sternguard come down 1st turn, I had thought about reducing their number but thought they wouldn't last long with just 5 in the squad. Its going to be play and develop the list i think. I'll put some of your ideas in to action on the table also.

Cheers

What you may want todo, is to see if you can find 135pts on the list and grab a Thunderfire Cannon with drop pod. 2/3rds of the time, you drop an empy pod late in game, (though dawn of war games, gives a good way to get it on table fast and safer)

If you can find more points, then a dread with two heavy flamers in a pod that shows up near the end of the game is allways fun.

Could drop the Librarian and a Terminator to get that Drop Pod Dreadnaught in, then put the other Troops in to a Rhino. I'll have a re-work.
Thanks
