So my flatmate brought something from work home yesterday, somebody at work was fobbing it off and my flatmate knowing I play with little toy soldiers grabbed it for me. I had no idea what he was talking about till as he walked in the door he threw one of these at me:
It's been painted pretty much exactly the same as the one in the picture. Now the question I have is... what the hell do I do with it!
None of my forces are on grassy bases. They are all on either snow, cobblestones or ash wastes. Any ideas on how to use a gaming hill with one of those forces?
if they used pva glue for their basing it actually comes off really easy with a razor knife.
make a small square at an edge and you can run the razor underneath the rest of it sideways... takes a minute but will allow you to rebase it as you want
yea meant the flock basing product had my army done in a flock grass on pva and wanted to change it came off much easier than anticipated but might not be the same way for that
Yea it seems a bit patchy, I know what you mean though, the guy who put the flock on knew what he was doing and didn't over do it. Do you think soaking it in simple green or some sort of paint stripper would work?
anything to break up the glue compound should take it off pretty easy with a good soak... id suggest testing on small areas of it with different stuff (rubbing alcohol, paint thinner etc) till you find one strong enough that doesnt cost a lot to do the soak with
Alternatively, since you said you had snow based models... you could just spritz parts of the hill with a spray adhesive and put some snow scatter on it. Probably a lot less work than stripping the thing.

awesome stuff lol, now about stripping the pva, have you managed to find rubbing alchohol in nz? ive looked everywhere for the stuff (for thinning paint, using pigments etc.)
I haven't found any. Same with Foamex PVC, can't find it for love or money.
