Default New 40k Terrain Project

Hey Heresy readers!

How have you all been! not posted in a while so here i am with my new project.

8x4 MDF cut down to 16x16" 8x16" 48/32x16v32" etc, so once put together will cover up to 8x4 gaming area. Each part is different, i have made a water tower, civilian blokes, a large workshop almost intact, ruined shrine, adeptus mechanicus building, a Chemical plant, low level areas either flat or with vehicle wrecks and lastly a stretch of road. The main materials are Pink foam, Foam card and about 65 of GW model kits. Sand, Crushed plaster, sliced up advertising sign (makes perfect iron girders) and putty for sandbags are the extra details.

More pics to come of the other parts and once i get things painted.

Sorry for some blurry pics, need to take them outside as i had bad lighting.

Hope you guys like it!

Hey these are looking great!

I think that's a great use of the prefab pieces combined with more generic ones. I think the only issue is the different level of detail, texture, and ornamentation between the plastic walls/windows and the foam ones. They don't quite look unified enough to really be the same architechture. that said your work is really good. I think the proportions of the building are spot on, and the depth of the surface is good.

I also dig the building with the double stairs and smashed roof. It looks like a nice town hall or dept store of the 41st millennium.

I think the gantries and the wear house are also looking sharp.

Have you considered how you are going to texture and paint these? Or what sort of a city scape this will be?

These look really good.

The two which I would look though are the warehouse. It could perhaps use some more detail (I realise these are not finished yet) so they are on the same level of detail as the others, although not necessarily just by adding GW bits, any detail.

The one with the aerosol can. I would be tempted to do something to the top of it, it looks a but like an aerosol can at the moment which for me spoils the illusion a little.

These are minor things though.

Oh, so their foot prints match up to make the board? That's a good idea. Are there any roads planned?
