Name: Kerberos Vormund

Age: 6781

HomeWorld: Olympia

Gene Seed: Iron Warriors

Physical Appearance: The first thing that strikes anyone about Kerberos is his size, he is massive, even for an Astartes. Nearing 8 ft in height, he is a veritable tower of iron strength and will. His broad shoulders and extremely muscled physique ensure he stands out amongst even his Brothers. His hair is cut close in a broad, but short mohawk haircut, a style that has been adapted by many within the First Company. He possesses piercing blue eyes and stark black hair.

Personality: Kerberos is a stoic warrior, though he is drawn to glory more than some of his Brothers, perhaps as a side effect of time spent in the First Company or due to his station as Champion, tasked with slaying the most hearty of foes. He however has never lost sight of the need to remain humble in his achievements, for the untended blade quickly becomes dull and so Kerberos strives for perfection in his craft, his days spent often tending to his armor and maintaining a keen edge on both his blade and his psyche. His certainty of his abilities is neither arrogance nor hubris, rather he believes in himself and his record of service, his accomplishments are spoken of in the tabbards and purity seals that adorn his armor. He views those around him based on their actions and merits in combat, he gives little credence to things outside of the realm of combat. His rank of Third Lieutenant is unique as it is not a rank typically found within a company and has been given to him for his ability to lead others around him. It is also believed that Captain Tyranus sought to distance himself from Kerberos, who had served as Krotas' champion before. By the same token, it is thought that perhaps Tyranus thought to placate Keeberos by 'promoting' him. Whenever their is a challenge to the First Company though, it is Kerberos who answers its call. The arrogance and glory mongering of Tyranus are curiousities to Kerberos who has himself never harbored such thoughts. Still he has a begrudging respect for the seemingly mad and cruel methods of the First Captain, believing him to be a good fit for what the Tyranthikos represent in combat. He wishes that he could feature a more prominent role within the Tyranthikos, the First Captain having made it clear that his services as Champion are not as needed as they once were, preferring to use an Honor Guard as his shield, rather than have the Champion at his side as his blade. Kerberos was sworn into service as Champion by Krotas and believes his fallen friend to have been among the greatest leaders he has known and laments only that for the XIXth to become as successful as it has his friend had to perish. He views the growing strains between various sects within the XIXth as demonstrations of weakness as they only serve to hurt the XIXth as a whole.

Rank: "Third Lieutenant" and Company Champion.

Armor and its appearance: As Company Champion Kerberos has been gifted with an ornate suit battle plate. With his expertise of his requirements for combat and the skill of the Master of the Forge, a wholly unique suit of armor has been created for the First Company's Champion. Possessing shoulder plating similar to that of Cataphractii, but featuring more rounded edge, the torso features reinforced plating, but lacks the bulk of typical terminator armor. The greaves and vambraces alike feature a more tapered, fluid form than the Cataphractii so commonly used by the First, however both are sturdier than that of MkIV power armor. A carefully honed and fully customized suit of power armor crafted millenia ago for the Company Champion. His pauldrons are each adorned with purity seals and inscriptions, depicting the great deeds he has undertaken. A tabard hangs from his waist with carefully writ notations of duels and challenges he has successfully undertaken. Like many within the First Company his helm is an aged silver, his differs with a crest of black running front to back on it. His pauldrons are a burnished and pitted gold to show his station as Company Champion.

Weapons and Equipment: Relic Sword with a null rod forged into the pommel and through the lower third of the massive two handed blade causing the lower portion to glow black when it's power field is activated. The sword as designed as a means of dealing with denizens of the warp. Combat Shield, Bolter, Bolt Pistol

Biography: Hailing from Olympia Kerberos was already a monstrously strong boy compared to his peers even before he had been recruited for the Iron Warriors. Though he was not of high nobility, his family was well respected within the Olympian sphere and were among the lower nobles. The family's tithes to the Imperium in the form of physically impressive specimens gave them a favorable view in the eyes of those of higher blood lines. When the youngest son of the Vormund line was recruited it was seen as a great honor and even some families of true nobility sent letters or couriers to give their congratulations at such an honor.

Keberos' physically impressive attributes followed him into his time as an aspirant Astartes. As he underwent the changes to his muscular and skeletal structure it was noted by some of the medicae personnel that tended to him that his body took to the genetic alterations with relative ease, as much as a mere mortals body could.

Once a fully fledged Astartes, Kerberos began his life in anonymity, he was a skilled warrior, and a recruit with great promise as he excelled in close quarters melee, but as all Iron Warriors, he was perfectly capable in ranged combat as well. His first moment of glory came when he aided his Sergeant who had become overwhelmed holding the line against a nefarious kingdom that rebelled against the Imperium and used Xenos tech in their attacks that had closed the distance to their embattlements utilizing some sort of short range teleportation. In a moment, Kerberos sprang into action, using his chain blade to intercept a powered rapier of sorts that was aimed squarely for the gap in his Sergeant's back plating. Having delivered swift death to the offender, and after the ensuing victory he was commended for his swordsmanship.

Though he never believed himself to be a strong leader in word, his Brethren have rallied around him by his actions, leading wounded squadrons, taking up the charge when a Sergeant has fallen or even on rare occasion fighting at the side of the current First Captain and being tasked with killing the staunchest of opponents.

For 6 millenia he has served as the Champion of the First Company.

Is that meant to be a character sheet like the one Lord Necross made for Loakk?

You can never be prepared for the unexpected

More of an (n)pc character. I had the idea for the character and thought it would be fun rp opportunity.

Adriun isn't the only one with a Human Fetish it seems! My ladies tend to be more....well machine-y.

(Obviously some auxiliary force is needed to help run the ships, that require thousands to run.)

Tens of thousands.

They are, mostly, the descendants of the ships' original crews. The Lonesome Queen is outfitted similarly - Majorly Olympians, or at least, Olympian by blood. Perfect recruiting grounds for a racial purist, really. ;)

Nyctophobia- Fear of the Dark Angel.

"No one ever spoke about of those two absent brothers. Their separate tragedies had seemed like aberrations. Had they, in fact, been warnings that no one had heeded?"

'Killing a man is like fucking, boy, only instead of giving life you take it. You experience the ecstasy of penetration as your warhead enters the enemy's belly and the shaft follows. You see the whites of his eyes roll inside the sockets of his helmet. You feel his knees give way beneath him and the weight of his faltering flesh draw down the point of your spear. Are you picturing this?'
'Yes, lord.'
'Is your dick hard yet?'
'No, lord.'
''What? You've got your spear in a man's guts and your dog isn't stiff? What are you, a woman?'

I think you need to have at least 100 to 200 thousand people to prevent inbreeding.

Edit: Never mind I think its actually way smaller. Like 160 people. Though I swear hearing it was more. Might need some more research.

Haha. It's thousands of years in the future, for all we know, the problems associated with inbreeding can be nullified.

Alternatively; they could all be vat-born. Or, deliberately inbred, for whatever reason. The Lonesome Queen and Wandering King are meant to be big; battleship big. They might have hundreds of thousands aboard them, depending on the sizes of battleship crews, in 40k - I'd have to recheck. Marriages could be arranged between the two crews - That prevents brothers from marrying sisters, and whatnot, but perhaps not distant relatives. I don't really know, not something I put thought into, honestly.

Sounds like a lot of impurity there between Void-Born crews "born at sea" and the potential for vat-born or inbred souls.

And they are still more pure than you, Gorgon-spawn.
