Yeah I've managed to grab a look at a mates codex and rulebook to be on the safe side. I only really wanted to know if the weapons I was going for were still allowed, and it seems they are. The rest I'm all fine on, was just that I'd read about all sorts of melee weapons changes in the newer rules, but it just seems to be the actual mechanics of them, rather than not being able to choose them.

I was thinking of taking a grav pistol, but I think thats supposed to be new weaponry developed in the late M41.

I was also going to point that out about farseer's character. He is a great character but I do think we need to keep the set date in mind. It was hard coming up with random stuff for my Executioner without being able to include the only real event they are known for lol. But, I am glad the badab war hasn't happened yet in this rp, personally.

I wish I had read about the Excoriators before now....what a cool chapter.

Since this takes place in 451.M40, it's set well before the events in Legion of the Damned so I can't make reference to it, apart from maybe saying "perhaps the chapter will never win it"

Actually it doesn't say that in the Grav-weapon profile in the new Codex.

In battle, grav-weaponry affects the local gravity field, using its victimís own mass against them, an ordeal that will stun those it does not kill outright. Heavily armoured targets find themselves crushed as if by the mighty fist of the Emperor himself, while vehicles are left as crumpled, smoke belching wrecks.
So in the interest of diversity you could have a grav-pistol if you wanted. I was also going to ask if you'd be willing to change your Chainsword to a Chainaxe as we have 2-3 swords already and an axe is a more fitting weapon for an Executioner. You don't have to if you don't want to though.

@Deus Mortis. Accepted, and thank you being a good sport about the Templar.

Once Angel of Blood puts his character up i'll start work on the opening post. And to answer your weapons question AoB, any of these are available.

Chain Weapons (Sword, Axe, Claw, etc)
Power Weapons (Again, whatever form you want)
Bolter Weaponry (Any kind. Bolter, pistol, storm, combi)
Plasma Pistols
Relic Weapons (Again, whatever form you want)

The only thing I ask is that you not use a Sword/Shield combo as two players are already using that. But you could use a Greatsword or two blades, or perhaps Lightning Claws or a more esoteric kind of blade.

Having said that LotN, I think sword and shield is more Templar style. I will probably change it for something more suiting, like a lightning claw(s). They are the Astral Lions after all!

Edit: Changed the load out of Solomon. Hopefully not too OP

Dual lightning claws is cool but I am curious to how one fires a pair of bolt pistols with lighting claws on :-p

Not sure why I put a pair. I didn't mean that. But with regards to firing on with a lightning claw on I have two thoughts:

- an enlarged trigger to accommodate the larger fingers of the lightning claws
- instead of a conventional trigger have a pressure trigger (i.e. you squeeze the handle tight and the pistol fires)
