Frozen Secrets (Recruitment)
The planet Geminar, a frozen wasteland that makes even Valhalla seem like a pleasant vacation spot full of warm days and pleasant nights. Geminar is littered with frozen ravines, treacherous canyons, and desolate planes; It is a place where temperatures on avarage hover around - 40C on a warm day and drop to a terrifying -130C on a cold one. Geminar would be a barren lifeless prickly ball of ice in the large scale of things if not for three reasons, The first being there is actually life on the planet, A indigenous species called skates, ray like creatures that swim through the snow and hunt in packs of at least 20 to 30, Second is it's incredibly rich in resources. some of the rarest minerals of all of the imperium are found in the icy depths of the planet, and third, ships have a bad habit of smacking into the planet.
Geminar is home to a relatively small community of miners who venture out into the dangerous wastes of this unforgiving world to recover resources for the imperium. the miners have made homes out of the wrecks of ships that have crashed into their planet, one would think there wouldn't be many, but Geminar is like a graveyard if you dig deep enough.
200 years ago at the end of the first tyranic war, Geminar got some uninvited guests that went unnoticed. the Strike cruiser Ignis had chased down a offshoot of Behemoth shortly after the Battle for Macragge. For 200 years Ignis was thought lost to the warp, and for 200 years Geminar has held onto it's secrets... until now that is.
three days ago a survey team made an unfortunate discovery and unintentonaly dug up a Mycetic spore. In a flight of panic upon learning this, the planatary govoner sent out a distress call, claiming tyranids had landed on Geminar. Promptly the Ultra marines responded, but they got no answer back from Geminar. Without hesitation Astartes set out for Geminar which was thankful only 2 weeks away... the only question was could the people of the planet last that long?

First off you are members of the planet's PDF. you are not formal imperial guardsmen, you are not space marines or tyranids or orks or impeccable veterans of countless battles. Geminar has seen a total of two conflicts in it's lifetime, both of which are well outside your lifetimes. The first was against traitors who rose up against the govoner.... they were promptly squashed. and the second was against orks, it is not known if they were squashed but it is assumed.
