I am in the gunnery positions in the middle of the entire thing, if I move towards the underground shelters won't I be pierced by everything around?

I wouldn't be expecting too many civilians at the front would I?

most civis started fleeing towards the shelters once the beasties showed up, so no, not likely to see any civilians at the front.

as for being out in the open, it's just now starting to come down, you could keep an eye to the sky to watch for incoming ice or seek moving shelters such as vehicles or other things.

I have a question about the Tyranid warriors, they are Shock troopers correct? Would a group of PDF troopers be able to kill three of them? Even with the armor weakened from the cold such as it is, I feel its rather unlikely.

glad you asked Gavoon. Dms often say never expect things to go as planned.

but in terms, out of character those warriors have been through the wringer. the cracked carapace negates much of their armor class and the biting cold is numbing their senses and movements making them much more manageable. now mind you, they're still a large threat, the more time a warrior has to mill about, the more mutations it's body can devolope to deal with the new harsh atmosphere.

so while they are manageable, i dont expect them all to be dispatched in a single turn. just as i didn't expect many of the things to be dispatched in a single term save for the unlucky sod that went up against the sentinel.

also, the players have a bit of luck on their side in a sense in this senario, the ice storm is throwing down child sized hail, so in online gaming terms or DnD terms, the current foes could be concidered to have a DOT on them, if they fail a reflex, they take damage, and given their mobility is down untill they mutate an adaptation, that's a very likely threat.

also, the gaunts up front aren't actually burrowing... they're being smacked by ice

Never Give Up, Never Surrender. for it is better to burn out than fade away.

Alrighty, I'll just give the chance up to Lady luck, and give em' a favorable roll chance for hail hitting chance.

EDIT: This was a bit vague, so I'll explain in less vague terms what I meant:

I'll give the Tyranids a random roll to see if an ice chunk hits them.

right then lads and lasses, it's Friday and it's update day. i'll be posting the update tonight so please try and get your post up today if you haven't done so already.

also, please discus where you would like to take this, do you wish to retreat back inside the base away from the storm, or tough it out through the thick of it?

Retreating is probably the best idea, but should we do it? Probably not.

Well, from Juliette's perspective, unless there is a path that leads to safety for the civilians in the armoury, I don't think she'd risk transporting so many untrained and, so far, unarmed civilians without back up. I think for the time being, the best she can do is stay put, grab as many supplies and weapons as she can from the armoury stores (assuming there are any) and pray either help arrives or at least nothing attacks them in force.

Das: So Oliver is trying to grab some big guns to put down the skate. Can I assume some if the civilians have smaller arms to lay down some covering fire?

Also, can we kill the Skate this update (and thus me and Kutu will have to work out how we get the guns to kill it and a suitable ending) or are we just trying to get it not to eat people at the moment and so it will die in a subsequent update?
