So Karak, pick whichever one, if any, fits best in the RP:
Name: Robert Lawton
Role & Rank: Colonel
Appearance: 5'6, with long, slick brown hair and greyish blue eyes. His slightly rounded face is smooth and unblemished. He holds himself tall and erect at all times. His physique is slightly less muscled and wiry than the average soldier's, owing to his pampered upbringing.
Personality: Whilst calm and collected on and off the battlefield, the common soldier perplexes Robert. His aristocratic background allows him a great vocabulary, a dry sense of humour and a strong strategic competence. He also has a very set sense of honour, he only duels if honour is at stake and will always allow a surrendering officer to be taken prisoner. He endeavours to be fair and see the best in all people wherever possible but lies, cheating and theft are repellent to him. He tries to be liked by his men by being fair and just, though his overly rich and aristocratic demeanour can and has been considered to be between insulting and endearing. He will often be found somewhere near the company colours, in the middle of the group, where he can survey and assess the tactical field and react accordingly.
Plus it's harder to get shot with other people in front of you.
Background: Brought up in a manor in Yorkshire, then tutored in latin, greek, philosophy, mathematics, english, history, geography and a score of other impressive academic accolades, Robert was aimed to be an aristocrat if his elder brother, Simon, failed to reach the status. Simon did not, however and Robert was pushed to one side by his family and bought into the military. He showed fine strategic competence in training at school, he practiced fencing and fox hunting to improve his fighting skill.
Name: Jeremiah Hackell
Role & Rank: Colour Sergeant
Appearance: 5'9, Short blonde hair and a grizzled, scarred face. He has watery, green eyes and a constant sneer. His left cheek is cleft with a huge gash he got whilst murdering an officer in a dispute over the man's wife. His uniform is immaculate, all his equipment in place, save that he has a large knife next to his brutal naval cutlass and a box on a string around his neck.
Personality: Cruel, leering and sadistic. Hackell is the bane of infantrymen. He makes his subordinates suffer and terrifies his superiors. He's strong, fast and incredibly crafty, always scheming and bullying his way around the army. He has an obsessive belief that God is on his side and protects him from harm because he is 'a pureblood Englishman through and through' and despises those from other countries. He zealously holds onto his banner, screaming abuse and enemy's and fellow soldiers alike. Upon his banner he has slung a small box on string, another hangs around his neck inside each is one of two grizzly trophies, the severed thumbs of his welsh jailer from before his days in the army. He claims that these bring him God's favour.
Background: Born in the gutter to a cheap whore and a drunkard, Hackell began his life cutting purses and throats. He was about to be hanged at 16 but picked the lock, killed his jailer and fled to the army. He picked up his new life with an unhealthy vigour, killing and maiming his foes savagely. He became a fine marksman, but he would always aim his musket to shatter knees, groin and arms, drawing out the suffering for the fallen individual. He specialised in killing cavalry, shattering the kneecaps of the horse and delighting when the beast stumbled and crushed it's rider. He eventually made the rank of colour sergeant, lashing the fingers he kept with him at all times to the top of the banner as a testimony to his perceived immortality.
Name: Anthony Harper
Role & Rank: Corporal
Appearance: 6'2, Short, curly black hair and a monstrously muscled frame. He has deep green eyes and a coat of stubble around his face. His uniform is rarely in perfect condition and his musket
Personality: Though he is outwardly cold to any new officer he does not know, he is a soldier's soldier and a likeable man as well as an unswervingly loyal friend. His massive frame belies a careful, kind soul who is harmless unless angered. If something does anger him, however, he becomes a mountain of vengeful muscle, anything in his hand becomes a weapon which he will use to cleave or clobber his target to death.
Background: Though Harper speaks often about his pre-military life, he often gives very little actual information. He was brought up in a little hamlet in the north of Wales amongst four siblings, where he quickly learned that the biggest lasted the longest. From when he was eight until he was twelve, he cared for his younger siblings until he left to join the army when food ran low at home. He was proved to be likeable and promoted to Lance Corporal, then Corporal for the men followed his lead and took his commands when no other orders were available. He was reckoned to be a fine sergeant material, but Harper turned down the offer for he felt that the promotion would divide him from his friends.
Please tell me if anything needs to be changed for fluff reasons or because of lack of detail.
EDIT: Didn't notice the other character, though coincidentally the Sharpe series has been a great (and rather poorly disguised) influence on large parts of the characters.
