Default Question about character creation

So I'm trying to create a player character for a dark heresy campaign, but I'm afraid to assign a class before I have a dm and other players. I dont want to put all the effort into making a character only to have a very imbalanced party (as in too many of one class or specialty). I'm thinking of hiveworld born who is either guardsman or tech priest.

Should I go ahead and make a pc or wait till I have a dm and party members?

I've moved this to the role player area so you can get some better responses than in 'Fall in Heretics'

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

You can always make it and keep it even if you don't use it for your campaign. Maybe it would suit a future one better. Of course I've never played a campaign (even though I really really want to haha) so I'm not 100% aware of the requirement needed for each character.
