Default Pchandler's log of various goodns (Updated 24 Nov. 2009)

Decided to break away from my Cadian style army that some of you might remember from almost a year ago, which has not progressed at all since I last updated from Iraq.

Now however I'm back from Iraq, divorced, out of the service and going out with a childhood friend (who needless to say, is into sci fi, fantasy, video games and wants to do some painting of her own also needless to say I'm very much in love). So, I have some time to get back into the hobby.

I've decided to paint minis which are appealing to my eyes. Starting with the Knights of Chaos set. I plan to make a little fluff, including names, for each of the 5 knights once the set is complete. Each will vary slightly however I am going for an appearance that is also slightly similar to one another.

I apologize for the poor quality photos, the girlfriend has a better camera than I do and offered to take the pictures on that, so later today or tomorrow we'll get those uploaded.

Firstly. Kick ass on the home front. Sounds like everything is working out. (Wish my life was that sane.....grumble grumble.)

Second. Kudos to you for doing what you want.
Third. Damn nice models. One question though, is there a wash on the metallics or not? They may benefit from one although i am no expert. Devlan mud on the gold and baddab black on the chainmail for additional depth.
Great work, keep at it.

Thanks guys. They both have been washed with a light coat of delvin mud, might go over them again, not sure yet. I'll make that decision after I paint the third one.

Default Courage and Honor!

Alright so, decided to do some Ultramarines (yeah yeah...I know...unoriginal....blah blah...everyone does them....I don't care, I like the fluff)

With that said;
First of five (5) Veterans, I might be making an army out of it...if that proves to be the case...I will start a new thread...and it will be modeled after the First (1st) Company.

Dreadnought Theos
Mostly an experiment..this was my first Dreadnought, did a try at free hand..not pleased with the outcome it is...however...my first try.

Sweet knights!

You dont mind if I steal some ideas from ya?
I actually never thought of making the horses "helmest" bone lookalike.
Which colors did you use for that bronze?

Thanks man. The paint I used for the bronze is made by a company called FolkArt, that specific color is Metallic Solid Bronze. Can usually find them at any craft store, atleast...all the craft stores I've come across, and I've lived in quite afew places over the last few years.

I was able to get a similar bronze like color using, GW's Golden Yellow and Boltgun Metal, however I think I may have also thrown in alittle red or brown of some shade.

Also have an update on the Ultramarines 1st Company project;

The beginnings of Tactical Squad Lucian, with the Razorback Invictus as support.
