ok so its been a few days since I last updated. But I have finished my next unit. I didn't manage to do any work on the mandrakes mainly because I got hold of a lovely little kit that I just needed to build and paint strait away. The base is not done yet but it will fall in line with the other bases I have so brass rod with lots of cork board.

Nice work. But i would add a few highlights to the cockpit windows to make them seem more Glass like.

thanks yeah I've already varnished it with gloss to give it a shine so it looks like blacked out glass. i forgot to put it in the post. When I saw the photo I thought the same thing I've also done it on the venom cockpit as well .

I really like what you've done with that paint scheme, it is one of my favourite (still unowned) models and it's great to see interesting takes on it. I find that when I do black glass a highlight on one corner of the glass and a pair of thin lines running diagonally from that light source corner away give the black a lot more depth and help with the glass look. For example, if you look at the crashed aquilla lander in my blog you will see what I mean.

This is exactly what I meant. It adds depth that normal varnish can't. And Iraqiel is very good at doing it the way he does
