correct me if i'm wrong though you'll be able to use them using the SM codex but that will then stop you from using the Emperors champ

Yep and all BT rules ): although I could count it as a small detachment I believe. The club where I play wouldn't mind if i did this anyways its more about having fun

Looking good from here. I would highly suggest that you thin the highlights a bit and/or clean them up with black paint where they spill too far. Will make the models look cleaner and overall nicer in the end.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

hey theres a really easy method for painting the BT crossess on the shoulder pads, rather than using transfers, they just look really odd on models. but its just as easy to paint them, also you are going to put litnies on the model yea? thats even easier. anyway to just get the hang of it draw it on a peice of paper or use a a test model.
-start by drawing a cross like a T (all lines to be even)
-then at the tips of each T draw two diagonal lines that sorta look like antlers
- then at the tip of the antler lines connect it down to the middle of the cross do that to all of the sides and then fill in with black.

im sorry its sounds weird im just no good at explaining things lol. ill try and get my camera working and show you how to do it. that would be much easier. oh and dont forget litnies on the model, their like real tiny sqiggle line that look like writing, can be very effective if you do it right. anyway ill try an fix my camera soon enough, good luck with your painting.

Exactly!

Also, you might want to highlight the eyes with a brighter red at the front most part of the eye. Then, near the back, put a small white dot--like light hitting it. It small, i know, but it really adds a good look to the model, and it isnt hard!

Are you able to drill out the barrels of the weapons? That would be good!

Also, what i do for really sweet look guns--and i mean it looks damn good! Is this:

Paint Boltgun Metal (not too thick, it obscures details!)
Wash with Black Ink. (its ok to use a decent amount!)
Then, drybrush with Mithril Silver.

It makes for a very defined, very sharp gun, and its very simple!

Good luck mat!
