Default Diorama/Terrain Project

I am starting a Diorama/Terrain project. The Diorama part of it will be a World War Two scene using Tamiya models. I am going to make it so that I can remove the models from the Diorama and place them on there appropriate bases. I will do this so that I can use it for Warhammer 40k terrain. I might even make two of them so one can be a permanent Diorama and one a permanent terrain piece. This is what I have so far:

Enjoy!

More detailed pics will come soon!

Oooh, that looks promising!

I'll be watching this for sure--maybe I'll be inspired!

Quick update, I just got my Tamiya German Soldiers at Field Briefing boxed set today and I must say that Tamiya produces a fine range of models. I built four out of five of them because I was on a stressed schedule. (I am giving the Diorama to my older brother for his birthday since he loves World War Two history. He could have gotten home at any minute and would have seen what I was doing.) I have put each model on a square 28mm scale base so that he can either put the models in the Diorama base or have them out of the Diorama so he can look at them. I will post pics of the unpainted models soon (I dont want my brother seeing me do it). Until then you should click on this link:

It should give you an idea of what to expect.

It's update time:

I am not able to give you all the pics because image shack is being stupid but I will try to upload them tonight. The guy without an arm is like that for painting reasons only. I have the other arm in the box. There is supposed to be a field stove but I didn't get around to making it. I'll try to assemble it tonight.

A small update for today. I just finished cutting the areas where the German soldiers will be. I cut them so that I can take the models out of the diorama so that my brother can look at the painted models in more detail. I will start painting them in a week or so. Sorry i cant post pics because I am waiting for my cameras battery to load. Photos will be posted within the week.

Are these the same scale as 40k miniatures, by chance? I've been poking around for a series of models that are around the same price per miniature as GW, but are historical figures. I thought it might be fun to make an Imperial Guard army using modern or WWII infantry.

No sorry they are I think 35-40 mm models but they are very inexpensive and I dont see a problem in making an entire army of them. But since you most likely want to use them in 40k they wont work.
