Default Ultramarine Work in Progress

Hello all and welcome to this space marine related thread. So lets get right into it shall we? its been about two years since i last REALLY painted anything which was miniature related and i have now come back into it so what do i have in store for you lot? well here's a list of what i will have for you guys during the beginning stages of this project. so... lets take a look :D : -

10 man tactical squad with chaplain
5 man combat squad
5 man scout squad
5 man terminator squad with space marine librarian
1 Rhino
1 Storm raven
5 man assault squad
5 man terminator squad
Space marine Dreadnought

Several miniatures have already been painted before hand just so i dont bore you to death with "What i'm going to do is" speech.

Pictures to follow!

cheers,

Commander Titus

Alright then chaps, lets get down to business. What do i have to show you to start off this thread. Well lets have a look shall we? -

IMG_0352 (Custom).JPG IMG_0353 (Custom).JPG IMG_0354 (Custom).JPG IMG_0355 (Custom).JPG
IMG_0356 (Custom).JPG IMG_0357 (Custom).JPG
IMG_0358 (Custom).JPG IMG_0359 (Custom).JPG
IMG_0360 (Custom).JPG

I started by painting a 5 man scout squad. To do this i started with a white undercoat. After this i gave them a thin layer of maccragge blue and then inked them using Agrax Earthshade. After this i did a main layer of altdorf guard blue and using Cathlan brown mixed 50/50 with skull white to paint the camo trousers. i then added an ice blue to create battle damage and then a 50/50 mix of cathlan brown and black to give the damage depth!

hopefully you guys like the begining of this thread and tommorrow i will have some storm raven photos to show you!

fly safe

Very nice job, I especially like the heavy bolterman, reminds me of a character I saw on...or in...I forget which it was....either an Anime or a graphic novel....very cool character...and very cool mini!

Hey guys hope you all had a great weekend i have a new update for you as well, I give you ... -insert generic drum roll here- the storm raven

IMG_0377 (Custom).JPG

IMG_0384 (Custom).JPG

IMG_0386 (Custom).JPG

IMG_0393 (Custom).JPG

IMG_0396 (Custom).JPG

to obtain the desired effect i repeated the same steps as the scouts for the main coat but added personal details towards the finish such as hazard stripes
near the rear jets and adding "my" own twist on the transport insigna. rather then going for the conventional arrow painted white i added a red and white stripe which will be painted onto all my transport units.

hope you guys like this as much i did building and painting the Storm raven its a beautiful mini to make!

Have a great evening

Commander Titus o7

Really great work! I'm doing one for my Grey Knights and am going to get another for my Raven Guard army...though I might do a Storm Eagle for the Raven Guard instead
..not sure. Anyway, just a minor thing I noticed, on the lights, you need to paint the metal cage over them, they're still yellow.
