Mornington Cresent
I'm sure you all know how to play. We'll be using the 1924 abridged rules for this first game since they prevent the axial shift from being used until at least turn 4.

We'll also use the travel compendium from 1962

I'll start with

Bond Street

Holland Park.

Turnham Green.

(that one always makes me want to puke.)

squeek 04-17-09 08:59 PM

Elephant and Castle

admiraldick 04-17-09 09:04 PM

good move.

risky.. but... London Bridge?

It is risky, but it's often tricky to play after Elephant and Castle, isn't it? Admiral Dick is right, it was a good move by Squeek.

Unless someone wants to rule that the Liverpool Street Defence is definitely not covered by the 1924 rules - tricky as it wasn't recorded as being used until 1951, which however is before the 1962 compendium - I'd say you can get away with it (they didn't bat an eyelid at Holland Park, which I thought was risky for exactly the same reason). Perhaps we need to formally invoke Hogekiss's Maxim to cover the gap between 1924 and 1962?

You shouldn't need to invoke the Hodgekiss Maxim unless the aforementioned fourth-turn axial shift issue comes into play. As long as there's no jiggery-pokery with Piccadilly Circus, I would say we're fine.

never one to stay away from the pokery....

Picadilly Circus. muahahahahaah and I'll gladly call into play the right circumferal passage, doubling the number of red tokens on the circle line. Have at you.

squeek 04-18-09 06:24 PM

Fiendish, but surely you foresaw Kentish Town being played in response?
