Fallout: The Dungeon Delvers
The Dungeon Delvers, a name mostly unknown to all but those who know to seek them out. they make their home in the old hallowed out high tech cathedrals that rest above the site of Vault 86. The Dungeon delvers could be mistaken for mercenaries, guns for higher, or a clean up crew, but in actuality they are much more. The Dungeon delvers are a guild of professional explorers with a upbringing and inner society as rich as that of the brotherhood of steel. They are a cabal of men and women dedicated to going into places where no sane person would venture. these are men and wemon shrouded in legend, fables, and ghost stories. they are one of the topics told around camp fires and pires in the night amongst travelers and bandits alike. in one set of eyes they are saviors, in the other butchers and monsters more terrifying than a deathclaw or a swarm of fire ants. but to understand the dungeon delvers one must travel back, back to the day when the bombs fell from the sky and men were painted upon the walls in a collage of shadows forever burned in time.
Here the story begins for the dungeon delvers. Nearly seven miles from the nearest town, a troop of scouts lay huddled around the dead body of their scout leader. these were not hardened military veterans, these were not mercenaries who had years of service and merely sold their talent to the highest bidder, these were children out in the woods on a camping trip. the lot of them were frightened and cold, terrified as they huddled around the crushed body of their scout leader as the bombs fell all around them. in a fleeting moment of panic they ran deeper into the woods towards the hills where a city rest. as the bombs fell and buildings crumbled the scouts took refuge inside a tower. outside Armageddon was the only word that came to mind. buildings blown down by what seemed to be gusts of burning wind, men, women, children turned into shadows that would forever be painted on the sides of walls, buildings, and vehicles, it was hell on earth. yet through all of this the children were safe, scared beyond comprehension but safe.
it would be several days before the children ventured beyond just the first floor of the building. some of it had collapsed inside, leaving stairwells missing sections and floors that had caved in. but there were more survivors around within the building. survivors who did not make it into the vault underneath the building, scientists and brilliant minds alike who by all means were on the list, but just didn't make it in time. these brilliant men and women would find the broken bodies of the children after a failed attempt to get to the cafeteria on the third floor. this would be the beginning of the dungeon delvers, the broken and maimed bodies of the children amongst a pile of rubble from a collapsed staircase. upon tables, platforms, and counters their broken bodies were made anew as they were saved from death by the scientists and doctors. years would pass and the children would serve the scientests well. venturing out into the decaying ruinds of not only the city, but the building itself where the scientists could not reach. It was these children who grew into adults, venturing into dungeons, caverns, and ruins, where no sane man would go, that were the beginning of the dungeon delvers.
years would go on and the stories of the dungeon delvers would only grow. tales of darting, cunning, courage and feats of like few would imagine on their own. eventually the stories and the group itself fell into obscurity. every once and a while a few people would turn up with the markings of the dungeon delvers but it was more seen as another strange symbol in the wastelands. this didnt change as vault 86 finaly opend it's doors to the world. For many years the vault dwellers had been helping with the upbringing and training of the dungeon delvers. they were aware of what was going on outside, though the vault door was on a time lock so there was little they cold do to directly assist, indirectly however was a different story. the link between the vault and the building now known as the black citadel was never severed, allowing a transfer of data between the two parties. the overseer had no interest in following the orders of vault tech, and instead to assign his own system... which ironically was exactly what vault tech wanted. it was even through the vault dwellers that a tridition evolved as a right of passage for the dungeon delvers, a vault tech implant was placed into the body after a final trial, linking them wirelessly to be monitored by specially tuned pip boys. this wireless link was later adapted for video data as well, it was seen as a right of passage in time, a sign that the person was truly worthy of the title dungeon delver. When the vault opened it's doors, little changed and the dungeon delvers remained in obscurity...
that was until a set of radio stations formed an alliance and started a joint broadcast. music, information, tips, weather, current events, these were all things that were broadcast from the three radio stations. but along with this, one more thing was broadcasted, stories and tales of the dungeon delvers. one station SP00k3, or Spook, told ghost stories from the perspective of raiders about the dungeon delvers. the station wasn't a raider centric station but the message it brought was all the clearer because of it. J1Jz took roomers and stories of the dungeon delvers and put it off as a sort of special news, and to their credit they actually did their recherche and didn't just broadcast hearsay. the third was Radio Black gold, A station that turned the adventures of the dungeon delvers into a radio opera with talented voice actors from the waists. but they each had a thing in common, they were all telling the same story. and with this, while the dungeon delvers were still in obscurity, they were a known obscurity through the waists, and it all started because of a job the dungeon delvers did for the station. it was not the payment for the task they completed, it was not a requirement after the job, that would require the three to be in an alliance before hand, no instead it was in honor of the dungeon delvers that the radio stations joined forces and collaborated their information and resources, further spreading the stories, tails, and knowledge of the dungeon delvers.
It was when vault 111 opened it's doors that things took a turn for the worse. nearly 80 miles away Vault 111's residents, a militaristic bunch of pscycopathic denziens calling themselves the new enclave emerged. Vault 111 was a failed vault that went well beyond it's original design and goal. It was supposed to keep it's residents up to date on the progress of the enclave, to create devout and pious citizens for the new world... what it create was fanatics who had taken the propaganda their vault computer had given them as divine words from on high. armed with tech, training, and a unyielding resolve the denizens of vault 111 went out to conquer the waists... and they were succeeding. this sort of thing braught all sorts of attention. The real enclave, the brotherhood of steel, various towns and cities... they all took notice, for it was an omen of times to come...
And so our story begins within the black citadel as a new squad of dungeon delvers is formed from hopefuls who have just passed their final test and have been granted their right of passage. how will events unfold? how will history remember the coming times? who will the squad side with and who shall prevail in the coming conflict? only time and the radio stations will tell, because war.... war never changes.
Hope i've caught your interest and that you've decided to stay on after reading all of that. I'm looking for 6 people, 5 at bare minimum for this one. i may or may not accacpt more depending on how well you write your profile, so it would be prudent to "dress to impress" as it were if we already have 5 or 6 and recruitment looks closed. for now though read on! and see what awaits you below.

Below here are the characters, you're to input their data into the character chart itself. these aren't premade so to speak but more of a starting point for you.
-Codename: Fire Bug
you've undergone controlled genetic modification and mutation granting you a series of "fire sacks" in your body. these sacs are in three locations. you have one on each wrist and one in the back of your throat. your skin is more resistant to fire thanks to fire ant DNA and Fire gecko DNA. These mutations have left you with slitted eyes as well as an additional set of eyelids like a crocodile or similar reptile. while one set is just for blinking, the other shields your eyes from intense light allowing you to see and direct your flames with more accuracy. you fuel your flames with booze and sadly enough you cant get drunk because of this. when you drink your body processes the alcohol and refines it, thus filling your fire sacks. you're also capable of consuming any flamable liquid to alter the properties of your flames.
- Codename: Truck
You have an assortment of subdermal implants in your body made up of a sort of biological Kevlar materiel. In a perk sense you have the cyborg perk and your damage threshold is also getting a +4 boost. IE big boost. top it all off with a bit of regeneration as well as a Pheonix Monocyte breeder and it all comes together to form someone who's particularly difficult to take down.
You have a pip boy 3500C(ustom), in a sense that makes you special, very special. you're able to sense your squad members across vast distances, keep tabs on them with your pip boy, and even seemingly slow down time to a stand still by pressing the third yellow button (VATS). your pip boy comes with all the bells and whistles the others in the series did. detecting radiation, having a digital highly advanced map, radio, even directed and augmented specialized learning... all of this puts you on par with the wanderer, the Currier, and even the vault dweller from 101 back east. you see things that others wouldn't, you notice things that others dont or cant notice.
Your arm is not entirely your own. after loosing your dominant arm a new one was both crafted, grown, and forged for you. your arm is a proverbial swis army knife. while it's no pip boy it does ensure you're never unarmed. inside it along your forearm rests a hidden blade which you can deploy and retract should you ever desire. the blade itself isn't some common rusted steel but purpose forged and designed to cause maximum damage. as long as a proper machete and as dangerous as a shishkabob. you can also conceal other items inside such as pistols, med kits, or ammo. you also have implants to reduce the sound you make when you run, walk, or actively try and sneak.

your eye is not your own and little escapes it's gaze no matter the conditions you're faced with. it comes with a complete sweet of tactical, night vision, thermal, xray, and even electromagnetic imaging capabilities allowing you to see the full spectrum of things. changing your vision is as easy as thinking about it, acting on what you see is a different thing. why use a high powered scope when you can use your eye?
you have an natural knack for getting into things people dont want you to be in. locked doors, secured data terminals, the inner workings of a security robot, you see and comprehend it all on a primal level thanks to your implants. while others fiddle and fumble around with them in hoppes of getting the desired result, you work them like a wolf would work it's jaws to bite or a cat would work it's claws to scratch, it's natural to you.

Sadly I can't participate although fallout is one of my top 5 favorite universes if I really see I can find time in the next days I may make character but I can promise nothing. I really hope it doesn't freeze because I will be definitely reading this one gl ^^

Appearance:Du’van stands at about 5’11 and is very slim. He wears glasses at all times and carries a spare set always. He has curly ginger hair. Freckles are located around his nose and have even begun to group up together to form what Du’van refers to as “Super Freckles” His eyes are the colour green and his forehead is usually covered by his hair. Wears Talon company merc armour which he “Borrowed” from a dead Merc
Weapons: Hunting Rifle
Gear: Bobby pins, Stimpacks, Talon Company armour, Pack of mentats.

Biography: Du’van was born in a small travelling community of caraveners. The life was a simple one if you exclude the super mutants, Slavers, Raiders and almost everything else that moved so the one rule of the caravans was that you must be able to help. Du'van was born with his parents being very well known in the caravan with his mother being very handy around tools able to fix up weapons and armor provided she had the required parts and his father being one of the guards being a crack shot. Du'van's birth was difficult being the fact that they where under slaver attack while it happened but the caravan came on through and continued on its merry way. As Du'van grew up his father regularly took him out shooting teaching him the basics of aiming and firing while his mother taught him how to keep the gun repaired and functional. It was when one time his father was listening to a radio station that kept going on about a group known as the "Dungeon Delvers" the radio kept telling about there story as his father just sat there and listened occasionally a smile coming across his face as the report went on. Du'van listened and heard accounts of fierce fighters which slip in and out like ghosts and where unafraid of anything. To Du'van it sounded like the perfect life however his place was in the caravans. He had a knack for tech so the lessons with his father had decreased but as a result he spent more time with his uncle on his mothers side who kept robots up and running as well as hacked into terminals to get information after all you would be surprised at how much you could sell information for. So Du'van's life was good. Trade was high and the caravan had grown larger now being more of a mobile town than anything. However. As the caravan grew larger more attention was brought to it. A large slaver attack hit the caravan in the dead of night as members of the community revealed their true colours and killed from within. Du'van was with his uncle getting a new sentry bot up and running when a slaver came into there hiding spot and killed his uncle in front of his eyes. Another slaver came round the corner and hit the first slaver around the head yelling about "We cant take slaves if they are dead." Using this time Du'van turned on the robot. The robot came alive with its one mission which his uncle had put in before he died. Protect Du'van. The minigun on the bot whirred to life and mowed down the two slavers and then continued out to keep firing at the threat. Looking down at the corpse of his uncle Du'van slumped and cried. After about fifteen minutes he realised the bot had stopped firing. He looked up at the door to see the bot still there. Getting up he looked outside. The caravan was gone. Dead people on the ground of both factions lay on the floor. After a day of going through the corpses he found his dad. Dead. But he could not find his mother. Du'van knew the wastes. She was a slave now. Du'van wanted to cry but he could not. This was it. The end. But something flared up inside and he began walking. The bot followed. The pair kept going untill they hit a town known as Red Wood. walking in he bought some food, water and scrap metal to fix some damage the bot had taken. For the next two years Du'van and the bot would go into building scavenge them and then trade them at various twons. After all from his life he had learned to shoot, Scavenge, Hack and repair. It was however at the age of fifteen he ran into the "Delvers" After entering a new building Du'van could feel something off. Nothing was around but it felt different. Going over to a computer nearby and hacking into it. He got some security camera footage from the camera he could see on the way in and a small stash of Nuka-Cola in the desk it was on. It was then he learned of people entering the building not to long ago. But why? This building a=had been explored a bit and was deemed too dangerous to go in deep due to a nest of mirelurks was inside. Du'van was not just going to allow some guys to swoop on in and steal the good loot so he quickly went deeper into the building. It was then when Du'van ran into the mirelurks. They ran forward and destroyed the bot like it was made of paper. The mirelurks paced around Du'van as he desperately tried to hack the turret controls. Gunshots cam from the left as the group who entered the building began to fire at the mirelurks. Du'van saw this as his chance and worked faster line upon lide of code blurring together but his fingers kept moving. After half a minute of the firefight beginning Du'van was in and turned on the turrets doing their targeting profile on the fly. The guns opened fire as the mirelurks where caught in a cross fire between the turrets and the group falling quickly. The slaughter ended quickly and Du'van went on over to his robot. The thing was destroyed entirely. No amount of scrap was going to fix this. The leader of the group walked forward and addressed himself. As he mentioned his name Du'van's memory flashed back to his father and the radio. No way where these guys Delvers? The Leader carried on talking and asked how he hacked into the security system and got the turrets functioning fine in the speed he would of expected someone with implants to do so. With that Du'van told his story to the man. After it was over the man offered to take him back. Du'van looked up and simply said "I want to be one of you." Surprised the man ordered the squad over and made hushed discussions with them. After a tense minute the talking stopped and the man turned around. "Right we will take you." He said simply as the squad left the room. After a simple journey he was taken to the operations base. Here he was asked to demonstrate his skills in front of some more Delvers. After he had finished he was told he was allowed on as a accolade. His training was harsh as he once came back as the only surviving member of a squad after this mission though he was installed with his basic implants. Afterwards he tried to use the computer inly to see lines of code to form words. So with his new implants he was assigned to another squad.
right then, time to clear some things up.
first bits first, This RP is not taking place in washington DC. also only vault within "walking distance" of megaton is old 101. as far as area where the RP takes place? think along the rocky mountains and i believe it's called the Canadian shield up beyond the border. so think of the area between the northwest states and Canada. pretty much heavy Forrest, well irradiated nuked Forrest now but that's a bit beside the point, and mountains, lots of vinyards from pre war era.
as for the vault 86 relationship with the delvers. it pretty much goes hand and hand. vault 86 "abandoned" it's original purpose to help create the first delvers. it's scientists and medical personnel shifting focus to develop medical practices to implant the delvers with the transmitter chips for the watchers and send back video data to the vaults. It's likely you would have gone to the "theater" in the vault to watch censored or edited versions of some of these recordings and transmissions. tests based on implant construction, adaptation, and installation would have been common place. much of the vault life would remain the same, Goat would still exist, all the varous rolls and what not would be the same. but everything would be much more focused, and one of the more "prized" results from the vault would be "Watcher". A you have a pipboy, B you're intimately familiar with the implants and C you become what you learn about. that's not saying other rolls aren't sought after though.
time table for the vault door being open? assume around 2168 with the current year being 2282. so little over a hundred years has passed since the vault doors opened. mind you people still stick to the vault like glue because lets face it, outside is a tad bit bonkers, like seven different flavors of bonkers at once with sprinkles.
the closest town would be called "Red Wood". not a single red wood tree in sight but a sign still remains that says redwood and it happens to be on the edge of what is now considered "town". The town's not too bad off. has a bit of a radroach and giant scorpion problem but that's par for the course out in the waist land. they're lucky they dont have an issue with deathclaws... which the black citadel does hence why no one ventures near it. for reasons mostly unknown to all but the higher ups, the deathclaws seem to leave the citadel alone as well as vault 86, but they are close and they are visible. they'll kill ya if you're stupid (IE out and about broadcasting HEY I"M HERE! with loud noises and such).
The delvers undergo around 3 years of "training" where they're known as Acolytes. after completing what seems like a never ending torrent of "smaller missions" they are awarded with what's come to be seen as a right of passage and undergo a public operation where they receive their monitor implants and are linked to a "watcher" (all watchers are simply known as watcher.) this is done like a ceremony. it's big, it's public (least for other acolytes, members of the Dungeon delvers, and the lot from vault 86 where it is broadcasted via video.) and it's a moment people work towards. surviving as an acolyte isn't easy, and if you make it 3 years it's pretty much garenteed that you undergo the "electric soul" operation and become a full blown delver.
there are four levels to the delvers.
Acolyte: hopefuls. recruits, the like. 3 years of training and lowest of the totem pole. not even full members. much of the tech and resources are not available. it is however the beginning of genetic implantation and controlled mutations. IE firebugs and golden eyes, not to mention truck. the hacking and lock picking implants would also be put into the mouse at this point.
Hidden: you've just received the "electric soul" implant and are now linked to a watcher. you're apart of a squad and a full blown member of the delvers. though you're still a rookie in their eyes and you know it.
Soul Bound: Veterans, warriors, survivors and legends. The soul bound are the ones the radios speak of.
Legion: These are the highest ranking members of the group known as the Dungeon Delvers. Second only to the council of 13. to see one is to see what people would call a living myth. they are ones who are sometimes held as high as the nords held the Asgard.
Council of 13: not normally an obtainable rank. the council of 13 is the ruling body of the dungeon delvers. they receive the jobs, tasks, missions, and contracts and then turn them over to the appropriate squad. the council of 13 does not make public appearances. The overseer of vault 86 is one of it's members, the other members are unknown.

(Well the hell, I can't stay out of a fallout roleplay as hard as I try. I just can't, the feels are too strong, the games were from my most favorites, holy hell I am making a character RIGHT now for this and the whole story just jumps on me!)

Appearance: Gabriel holds a sturdy build of 1.9 m broad on the shoulder with crow-black hair and his natural blue eye. The right eye is modified as his code name suggests and it has a greenish hue inside it. His facial details are not seen because they are hidden behind the curl of his unshaven beard around the mouth while the tangle of his messy hair go as far behind as the shoulders. Wears a reinforced armor that was oft-times patched up by him although he has removed all the silly spikes deeming them unnecessary.
Weapons: Although he has salvaged many and more the current weapons he has are a combat shotgun, a machete and a damaged mesmetron which he wants to get repaired as soon as possible(Bio will explain why).
Gear: 2 Stimpacks, Reinforced Metal Armor, Combat Shotgun, Machete, Mesmetron(Damaged), 12 Shotgun shells, 4 Mesmetron EC, 2 slaver collars and a bottle of Sunset Sarsaparilla.
Also, a silver necklace with a pendant in the middle of it and the letters PF scribbled in black.
Preferences: Ballistics weapons that kick a lot at the enemies. His travels have given him experience even with Energy Weaponry so if he finds something strong, he is gonna wield it.
(Bio is large but I really got the inspiration for this one and I hope it will be a good read to catch the character's divination as this will be his ultimate approach in the tasks that will be expected of him as a member of the delvers.)
Biography: Gabriel was one simple boy who was raised up in the vast wasteland in a family where they had little more than a god-sent patch of clean soil in which they could plant a handful of fruit that would feed them. With the company of his bigger brother, he wasn't bored though. They would toy around all the time. But when he was 18, the bigger brother left saying that he had to serve his country, something little Gabriel was too young to understand. "Protect mum and dad he told him before he wandered to the unknown.
As time went by, the boy of the family had to set out to seek a better fortune. He became a hunter and a scavenger and he was passing around settlements selling whatever he could find out there. Gladly he would find the food he needed so he wasn't like all the skinny children he would often encounter. His travels brought him towards a central part of the Capital Wasteland. He was 19 years old at the time, a full grown up adventurer.
As he was pacing down a block of rubble he heard a shriek. He immediately held tight the rifle he had at the time and went down to see some travelers ambushed by a group of Super Mutants. He quickly joined the fight ambushing the mutants from behind and shooting one's brains off. In the delirium that ensued the travelers fought back and the ambush was undone. As the people thanked him and started looting the mutants for their valuable weaponry he helped a young woman from the group stand up. She was lean with long black hair and blue eyes like his, dressed in a leather armor that fit her perfectly, she was around his age, maybe a year or two older, as beautiful as Gabriel had only imagined a girl could be and she was smiling at him.
"We are glad you came to help us, you look like you can handle yourself well." She exclaimed never stopping her smile.
"I always have time for those who need help." was Gabriel's response at the time.
The woman would only smile a wicked one this time and whisper at his ear: "Better kick off that habit then." She paced away and nodded towards him. "You should follow us, we could use your help.".
"Sure" was Gabriel's response.
He traveled with the group of 5 people north searching an empty gas station on their way for food and other valuables. The woman, whose name was Eleonore would often start a chat with him, asking him about his origins, his family and his other habits. She seemed to take a good thinking at his answers which worried him a bit. By nightfall they had arrived in the ruins of a small hotel by the hillside, half crumbling but it seemed inhabited. The travelers greeted the guards on the doors. When a fierce-looking guy tried to block Gabriel, Eeonore waved him away saying: "Let him be smelly oaf. He is with us." Then looked back at the confused hunter and nodded him to move, always with that wicked smile.
As they were in the hotel atrium he started to feel odd, seeing weapons stashed in every corner of the room, weird looking people coming and going from the top floors, exchanging words with travelers and speaking of destinations and ends.
"Are you in a caravan company?" Was Gabriel's first question once he and Eleonore were at the stairs to the first floor.
"You can say that, although our merchandise is much more, interesting." she chuckled out.
"Oh, uh maybe you would like to hire me, as a guard or something, you saw I can handle myself."
"We would definitely want you around us, I would definitely want you around me if you mean me friend."
That left Gabriel without words for a good deal of time. The first floor had rations and supplies and a locked door to the third floor which seemed a lot taller. Eleonore produced a rusty key and opened the door, only to lead Gabriel even more upstairs. She broke the silence.
"Our headquarters is a very nice place, you will definitely like it. And you can become a merchant, like me." She smiled that wicked grin again.
"Oh, please I am definitely not suited for this job." Gabriel said blushing.
"You are made for this job, darling." Hehe.:grin:
"I think you need to explain me better what you're doing."
Eleonore sat in the ledge of the staircase and moved one arm behind his neck, brushing his hair. "What is life all about in the wastes, Gabriel? A constant war. All you need to survive is power. But we are not going to war, we are going to paradise. Paradise Falls, I said you will love the place. There is always work in there, you get free caps for being strong and you will always sell your merchandise there. We have improved you will see. Our own robots, our own inquiries, people from all over the waste will seek to bring some paradise with them to help them in anything they will ever need."
Gabriel then realized he was dealing with slavers. The thought had never come to his mind. He was without words, all this talk about power. His weapons could earn him a good living. And Eleonore was again whispering at him now and the smell of her hair was the first clean smell he had sniffed his entire life. And he was feeling good, again for the first time in his life, more than good.
Mesmerized as he was, he followed Eleonore up to the third floor. There she led him towards a door where they were all packed up, slaves from the local area huddled up, handcuffed, collared and pleading as soon as the door opened.
"There is something I want you to see", she told him and she went in the room and came out dragging two huddled slaves from their hair that looked well past their fifties. She dropped them on his feet and came behind him, her hands slipping around him, gently passing above his crotch and closing around his chest lightly as feathers. She rested her face next to his in breathing range from his ear.
"You are what we need in paradise Gabriel, I know you will be a great addition. Remember what I told you, only through force you will get your message across. But we have plenty of time for messages, before you found us you know our previous ranging was in your home area. I think you can recognize the merchandise."
Gabriel lost his breath at the sight of the two slaves in his feet that he just realized were his parents. He was paralyzed, his senses had stopped working and all he was aware of was Eleonore wrapped behind him.
"Paradise wants you, no, I want you Gabriel and this is why. The answer is right in front of you. You cannot possibly choose to be with the weak. All we can do is ignore them and move to greater places, move to make a fortune and become from the ones that really matter. Not pawns but players in the game. What will it be?" Was her final question and Gabriel could almost feel the tip of her tongue at his neck for a moment.
Inside him Gabriel would shudder at the choice he had to make, he was at the slaver's hideout. The choice he had decided to make would definitely cause reactions, and he hoped nobody would try to stop him. He had decided that he wouldn't live with that guilt for the rest of his life, that he would do his duty, to himself most importantly. He looked down at his relatives. They were beaten and injured so none could really stand up and he could make out the common word in their lips. Please.
With his left hand he unsheathed his machete and curled his hand around its grip like a fist. The blade was straight at Eleonore's face who was still embracing him warmly. One action was all he would do and this would be over. And so he did.
With the fist around the grip of his weapon he knocked the slaves back and with a quick side step he slammed the door shut. He turned directly around noticing the room on the right side of the floor that was mostly private quarters. He slashed at the knob of that door opening it, sheathed his knife and pushed Eleonore inside. For now the wicked grin was on his face and his eyes had changed. From naive, he had transformed to something better, and he knew that he would finally do what he could have regretted not doing for the rest of his life.
When his expression was reflected back, he closed the door behind them and it was his turn to embrace her. The face, the smile, the smell on the hair, his paradise was within his grasp. What transpired inside the room later is better thought than typed:wink:.
This was the beginning of Gabriel's new life. A slaver of Paradise Falls, the new fortress of the capital wasteland would be his headquarters and together with Eleonore they were the perfect duo. They would go range as far as their feet would take them, get their bounties with all their bonuses and maintain the scores for most merchandise sold every period. The wicked grin would stay on Gabriel that far, and each time that he went to sleep with Eleonore huddled in his arms he couldn't be more happy for the choice he had made. Until the inevitable ranging came.
Gabriel had heard of karma, although he never believed in it. There was no repayment on actions he had learned in the place where the strong would take from the weak. But karma might have existed after all.
8 years later from his recruitment as he was going back to the Falls a shadow dropped above them. It was what he later would realize as an Enclave machine, a flying vehicle that was meant for transporting warriors and it was just unloading a bunch of them. The slavers quickly took their positions, the miniguns on the tower of their fortress taking fire at the invaders.
What these men wanted so bad that they were wasting so much plasma at, Gabriel wouldn't know but he was a slaver and he had to uphold his reputation. For at the heat of the battle as the slavers were coming out to help their wounded he and Eleonore would charge from their cover shooting the Enclave paramedics from behind trying to deal a finishing shot at the invaders. But their weaponry was no match for their technology. An electrifying shock paralyzed all the slavers around. The Enclave sergeant was now above Gabriel his plasma pistol pointed at his face. The sergeant had lost his power helmet and the feelings that followed were too mixed to be understood.
"The slavers took our parents and you weren't even there to protect them. Then I find out that not only you became a slaver but that you didn't even try to save them. The Enclave has eyes everywhere and they show me that you are no brother, you are a vile monster and now I will deliver the justice our parents deserved! See my men. They followed me in this just cause. This is our pride and you do not deserve to be in the world we will seek to create."
What followed was a mess of actions. The sergeant raised his pistol aiming at Gabriel's head, but he wasn't alone. Eleonore having partly recovered from paralysis rolled right above the target with her mesmetron in hand. It directly hit the sergeant's face and in the next seconds that transpired, a loud "ft-balch" and Gabriel's big brother was now a headless corpse. But that wasn't the end of it. He shuddered when he realized Eleonore had taken the shot for him on her chest, to save his life.
"Why???" he called out holding her as tight as he could.
"You.. have bad influence on me you know that? I actually had time for someone who needed help." Were her final words as her eyes closed with the wicked grin always remaining there.
What followed was mostly unimpressive. After that lightning bolt of retribution, the enclave sodliers bundled up Gabriel and a bunch of wounded slavers and loaded them up in their vehicle before the Fall's rocket launchers would hit their mark. He was delivered on the northern mountain outpost of the Enclave where he remained a prisoner of the state, often used in dangerous extractions in ore mines below the mountaintops. For 18 years he sustained that, planning his escape most carefully. One soldier injured in the mines was all it took and he immediately punched the guy down, got his gear and walked out, straight as any other. That attempt had cost him his right eye trying to slide in the dangerous tunnel with sharp stones constantly raining above and with the soldier behind him ,who soon got wounded by these perils, but a bandage he had found some months ago was all he needed for the time being. Feeling extremely uncomfortable in the Enclave gear and filled with a new found strength to escape this hell, he huddled all he could(the gear he has currently) and set out for a new chance of life in this alien place(the place where the rp takes place).
The mountainous area had little game and the forest was more dangerous than helpful but he eventually came in contact with the dungeon delvers. He was injured, his damaged eye was in a definitely bad state and he was almost famished, ready to crumble from his wounds. He would approach their scouts silently and ask for help, they led him to a small outpost and explained him who they were before asking him to join them. He silently accepted their training knowing he had nothing else to do. Journeying back to the Falls wasn't an option, not with the painful memory of the irreplaceable love he lost.
During his time at the delvers he was always silent, considering the life he had spent in his home, in the prisons, but most of all the time he had spent with Eleonore and he still had the memory of their first night.
He finished his training resilient and after he got the gear with which he had found the delvers again and a brand new mechanical eye that seemed to be engineered to help him see many and more, he was ready for his mission, ready to prove that he was still strong and that he was still someone to be feared.
Were his enemies to disagree, the slaver equipment would come in handy to convince them otherwise.
