I'll check out those links as it definately sounds like something i'd be interested in, pretty much just chasing a good simple set of rules to mix it up now and again from the usual games of Piquet, 40K and WAB.

Both good systems. Hordes of the Things (HotT) is a fantasy version. All of these are delightful because you pick the scale you prefer (normally 15mm or 25mm) and then you can use whatever minis appeal to you.

Especially with HotT, this allows for amazing and unique looking themes and armies.
