ok so my club now has the main rulebook and fortress europe book, my friend's army so far is a german grenadier platoon and 1 tiger tank. today i bought my first U.S. parachute rifle platoon and i'm really excited to be going into this game. my one question is if parachute rifle platoons get tanks, because i'll need heavy stuff to take out my friend's tigers. If they cant have good enuff tank hunters my other idea is to get the devil's brigade and have my 1 paratrooper platoon as support. i just read about those guys and i like them because they're a joint american-Canadian army so i could have fun using them as my people. (Canada!) i looked at their PDF on the flames of war website and they seem to have pretty much any thing you cud possibly want in support options. could anyone give advice/tips on these armies?
although I despise the filth called flames of war"hammer", you might wanna wait longer than 1 hour and 18 minutes before giving up, I'm sure there are some people who for some reason actually play it.
lol i waited a full day, not 1 hour. and now its 2 days. nuthing. me and my group really like ww2 so we're trying out this game. i'm gonna look for a forum made soley for it tho.
UNLESS THEY ARE NEAR INFANTRY WITH TANKS WE HAD NO AIR DROPPABLE vehicles larger than a jeep. They had some armor support during market garden and the bulge but it wasn"t airborne.
Airborne can take some 57mms or even some of the 75mm artillery. If you get a lucky ToT hit, a forced reroll on a top armor 1 vs AT 4 or 5 should do some damage. Also, M10's and M18's with their "ambush" rules will do some serious damage if you can get in the side armor. Just be careful because if you lose the carbine teams before you bring in the tank destroyers or you lose the tank destroyers.
