they havent simplified the rules, but they have rewritten the rulebook and its much easier to understand, you will not have any trouble picking up the game with the introductory rules. Building your own mechs is still a bitch of a math job without one of the computer programs.

Love this game. One of the best games ever, especially for campaign play.

I originally started wargaming with Classic Battletech, way before I started 40k or anything else. It's a brilliant system!

Definitely one of the Classics

Strongly reccomended for anybody who doesn't play it.

Regards,
Jake.

Battletech! Classic FASA. Same here played this long before 40K. Played a few expansions too like CityTech and Battlespace too. Shit now I feel even older. Does anyone have any mini's from BT still? I actually found a whole box full in my basement a few months back.

Yeah I think I have around 36 mechs. Inner sphere & clan omni mechs. My MadCat/Timberwolf is still my fave.

Actually about a year ago I traded for a mint marauder II unseen version. Its my favorite mech, I'm just too afraid to mess with it because of its value

i used to play with my stepdad way before i new 40k existed but he used it as a way to help me learn math as a kid, i think we looked over all the mechs he had and he had almost 2 regiments, he was a fanatic about picking them up.
my favorite is the madcat/timberwolf although the daiashi is a close second

Twinkie Fishing XD

You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won't kill you, because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.

I really enjoy CBT - had a lot of fun playing on the megamek servers a fair bit - had some limited success once I got the hang of things, got lucky and had a house leader who was prepared to spend a bit of time explaining things to me which helped immensely (although I seem to remember him getting incredibly frustrated!)

Still - I might have to re-install it and lose some more of my life!

Anyone from here up for coming and giving me some games - that way we can all be crap at it together and have a slighly shallower learning curve

Bump in celebration of MW5 being confirmed!

I need to get back into this. I've forgotten the bloody lot! Anyone up for a MegaMek noobfest at some point? If anyone feels like helping me re-learn it all, you're more than welcome
