Default Magic The Gathering: What A Card Means To Me

A really interesting article about a player who instead of looking for an easy win, is more concerned about being loyal to his cards: Magic The Gathering: What A Card Means To Me

It's certainly one way of looking at MTG cards.

90% of people think they are above average.

Statistically Improbable. Psychologically Inevitable.

Yeah you can go online and just copy the current tournament winning decks, but you didn't take the time and effort to play through game after game till you got it just the way you want it. Winning with premade decks like that isn't really winning, you're just copying other peoples successes. IMO atleast, when I played MTG the few decks I had were nothing but mine. I put in the hours, the money, and the loses...lots of losses, before I got them tweaked just right for my playstyles. I could even say I loved my decks. I would never dream about playing with decks that aren't mine.

I will never understand how someone can grow so attached to a printed card.

Strange, but not a Stranger.

Giving all you opponents constant cards, land, library searches. Life and cheat into play effects. And then mindslavering all of them at once... And winning with only a 2/2 braids to call your own... That is wonderful.
