I really need to just settle on a list, had a chat with some of the players from the club. While I'm learning the rules and that they won't be using Aircraft (and the local meta isn't that big on aircraft either) So had another tinker and gone back to the 5 tiger list, this will be the 'final' list plus will have enough options to play around till I purchase something different to run a seperate type of army.

Company HQ, 225 pts
1 Tiger I E

Schwere Panzer Platoon - 430 pts
2 Tiger I E

Schwere Panzer Platoon - 430 pts
2 Tiger I E

Panzer Scout Platoon - 110 pts
1 x Command Motorcycle MG, 2 x Motorcycle MG

Panzergrenadier Platoon - 195 pts
Command Panzerfaust SMG, 1 x Kfz 15 field Car, 6 x MG, 3 x Kfz 70 Truck

Rocket Launcher Battery - 115 pts
1 x Command SMG, 1 x Observer Rifle, 1 x Kubelwagen,
3 x 15cm NW41 Rocket Launcher

1495 points.

Tactics.

Its looking like quite a defensive list, I have Nebel's to pin enemy infantry in place, I will attempt to use my infantry to defend either one flank or the centre of the board (depending on objective placement) and attack with the tigers using the scouts to spot targets. Once my Tigers have lured the opponant away from my infantry I'll use them (infantry) to sweep in for the win, using cover for running.

So for this I need to buy the Motorcycles and some infantry stands for when they dismount and the Nebel's because they look so damn cool.

#sigh# change again, I love my Tigers, but do they need to be German?

Harckocsizo Szazad

HQ - 1x CinC Tiger I E (195 pts)
- Recovery - 1x Famo (5 pts)
- Ervin Tarczay (75 pts)

2x Tiger I E (390 pts)
2x Tiger I E (390 pts)

3x Toldi IIa (130 pts)
3x Toldi IIa (130 pts)
2x Nimrod AA (115 pts)

2x 15cm NW41 rocket launcher (60 pts)

1490 Points, 6 Platoons

I have:
-5 tigers without storm trooper&tiger skills but with hussar move and with a cool hero
-two fully armoured scouts units on track with Rof 3 on main gun (AT7)
-AA unit that is capable of flank shot and killing a panther with it (ROF 4 and AT7)
-and some really cheap mini smoke bombardment

So will be using my leFH 18's and Panzer Grenadiers in a Gepanzerte PanzerGrenadier list.
Which will need a little more reading on tactics and choices

Sometimes it's better to take a small amount of tigers and bulk panxer IVs or STuGs etc. Tigers a great but have slow turret movement so watch your back . They don't have to be German either as long as you're happy with it

Well then, I have a campaign set up so that I can learn the game and become immersed in tactics and scenarios ect. We will be taking part in the Korsun 1944 combined campaign at 1500 Points. I will need two lists for this one pocket force and one relief

Here is what I am thinking

"Pocket Force" GepanzerGrenadier 1500

Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Company HQ - 125
CinC SMG Panzerfaust, 2iC SMG Panzerfaust, 2 x Sd Kfz 251/1
Panzerschreck, Sd Kfz 251/1

Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon - 230
Command SMG Panzerfaust, Sd Kfz 251/1, 6 x MG, 3 x Sd Kfz 251/1

Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon - 230
Command SMG Panzerfaust, Sd Kfz 251/1, 6 x MG, 3 x Sd Kfz 251/1

Gepanzerte Panzerpioneer Platoon - 305
Command SMG Panzerfaust, Sd Kfz 251/1, 6 x Pioneer MG, 3 x Sd Kfz 251/7
Goliath Demo Carrier

Panzer Scout Platoon - 145
Command Motorcycle MG, 3 x Motorcycle MG

Panzer Platoon - 360
Command Panzer IVH, 3 x Panzer IVH

Rocket Launcher Battery - 105
Command SMG, Observer Rifle, Kubelwagon, 3 x 15ch NW41

1500 Points - 6 Platoons

"Relief Force" Schwere Panzer Kompanie 1500 Points

Schwere Panzer Company HQ - 225
CIC Tiger I

Schwere Panzer Platoon - 430
Command Tiger IE, Tiger IE

Schwere Panzer Platoon - 430
Command Tiger IE, Tiger IE

Panzer Scout Platoon - 110
Morotcycle MG, 2x Motorcycle MG

Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platton - 225
Command Panzerknacker SMG, Sd Kfz 251/1, 6 x MG, 3 x Sd Kfz 251/1

Rocket Launcher Battery - 75
Command SMG, Observer Rifle, Kublewagen, 2 x 15cm NW41

1495 Points - 5 Platoons

Makes the most of the models that I have :D

No aircraft (well little bit) was used Historically due to the extreme weather conditions experienced within Ukraine, Blizzards and Freezing fog ect

Ok so have been playing around with lists and have come up with this (which is pretty historically accurate as far as I am aware.

The Korsun Campaing Can be seen here http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.a...53&art_id=1063

We're playing 1500 Points and this is what I am thinking of taking as my Pocket Force from the Kampfgrupper Kastner PDF that can be found here: http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.a...53&art_id=1082 (PDF Found at Bottom of Page)

Grenadierkompanie HQ - 100
CiC Kastner, 2iC Panzerfaust

Combat Platoon
Grenadier Pioneer Platoon - 210
Command Rifle/MG Panzerfaust, 6 x Pioneer MG/Rifles

Combat Platoon
Grenadier Platoon - 165
Command Rifle/MG Panzerfaust, 6 x Rifle/MG

Combat Platoon
Grenadier Platoon - 165
Command Rifle/MG Panzerfaust, 6 x Rifle/MG

Weapon Platoon (Combat Attachment)
Grenadier Machine-gun Platoon - 135
Command SMG, 4 x MG42 HMG

Weapon Platoon (Combat Attachment)
Grenadier Machine-gun Platoon - 135
Command SMG, 4 x MG42 HMG

Divisional Support Platoon
Assult Gun Platoon - 285
Command StuH42, 2 x Stug G

Divisional Support Platoon
Artillery Batter - 210
Command SMG, Staff Team, 2 x Observer Rifle Team, 4 x 10.5cm leFH18

Divisional Support Platoon
Anti-Aircraft Gun Platoon - 90
Command Sd Kfz 10/5 (2cm), 2 x Sd Kfz 10/5 (2cm)

So I make that 1495 Points, 8 Platoons (4 On, 4 Off)

Slightly different from the original list, I think I might even make a Bake list to represent my Relief force (which is also Historically accurate).

Anyhow

Tactics

I ALWAYS attack even against other always attack forces and since I am attacking I will be doing so using the Night Fighting rules, mitigating the amount of firepower that is against me.

Kastner will join the Grenadier Pioneer Platoon so that they can re roll failed bogged down results for crossing difficult terrain, the platoon will also be able to make stormtrooper moves on a 2+. They always count as Gone to Ground unless they moved at the double, are not a recce team, shoot or assult...I may need to rethink this. The platoon can also make a Spearhead deployment move with him attached. I will also replaced one of the MG/Rifle teams with a flamethrower team to get rid of pesky infantry.

The Machine-gun weapon teams take advantage of the fact that they can be a combat detachment to the two remaining Grenadier platoons, hopefully the fire from these will be able to effectively pin the enemy units in place ready for the clearing assault of the Grenadiers.

The Stug G's (Assault Gun Platoon) will most likely take a flank and attempt to get some flank shots in against enemy armour, or at least distract them for long enough that I can swarm them with my infantry. I also gave the commander the StuH42 as a breakthrough gun and the ability to smoke if I experience more infantry then I can effectively handle at that time.

The 10.5cm leFH18's I will attempt to place in ambush (staying outside of 40cm from enemy teams) I hope to use the AT10 to at least whittle down a platoon (fingers crossed I wont face many Soviet Tank Hordes) at a pich they can also make a nuisance of themselves by placing smoke bombardments up to 180cm away if anything looks to be causing me trouble and I can't handle or tactically withdraw in time to face.

Finally the Half Tracks will race around providing AA cover, if the weather is clear, if not then I guess I'll have to turn the Flak38's on Infantry or scouts

The added bonus to me buying, assembling and painting the above means that I can put out the following lists from the Grey Wolf Book

Bake - 1500Points - 4 Platoons
Grenadier - 2500Points - 10 Platoons
Sturmkompanie - 1500 Points - 8 Platoons
PionerKompanie - 1500 Points - 6 Platoons
Schwere Panzer - 1750 Points - 6 Platoons
Sperrverband - 1500 Points - 8 Platoons
SS-PanzerGrenadierKampfgruppe - 1500 Points - 6 Platoons
Sicherungs - 1800 Points - 8 Platoons
Feldherrnhalle Panzergrenadier - 1500 Points - 8 Platoons
SS -Kavallerie - 1500 Points - 8 Platoons

I am actually starting to see how many people consider Flames of War to be considerably cheaper than Games Workshop products

A few more things that I would recommend to help keep costs down.

A: You could buy third party models. Such as Plastic Soldier Company. http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.u...&cPath=1_22_24. There are a bunch more companies that do it as well. Third party models are completely legal (as long as they are to scale), and are plentiful since there is no copyright/IP.

B: Use this http://easyarmy.com/ , it is kind of like army builder. It has most of the officially published lists, so you technically don't have to buy the list books. Its also really cheap, and is endorsed by BattleFront.
