Default 1250 point doubles list

Me and my friend are going to have a doubles game at our local hobby shop so I'm trying to come up with a good list to compliment his. He's bring an anti-tank Eldar list with a lot of Bright Lances and Missile Launchers, so I need a good anti- infantry list. We will most likely be going up against Space Marines or something equivalent. Here is what I have so far.

HQ
Ghazghull Thraka-----225 points

Elites
5 Nobz-----------------123 points
-2 combi-shoota/skorchas, 2 big choppas, ammo runt

8 Lootas---------------120 points

Troops
11 Boyz----------------106 points
-Nob, boss pole, power klaw

Trukk-------------------40 points
-Boarding plank, big shoota

11 Boyz----------------106 points
-Nob, boss pole, power klaw

Trukk-------------------40 points
-Boarding plank, big shoota

20 Boyz----------------130 points
-2 big shootas, rest shootas

Battlewagon-----------130 points
-Deffrolla, 4 big shootas, grot riggers

Heavy Support
Deff Dread------------105 points
-2 additional close combat weapons

3 Killa Kans-----------125 points
-Grotzooka, big shoota, skorcha

Please tell me if I could make any improvements or if anything needs to be changed. Feedback would be much appreciated.

For anti-infantry, I'd recommend horde rather than speed freaks. Units of 30 shoota boyz will beat just about any infantry list out there.

The killa kans and lootas are good, but I'd take more boyz rather than a nob squad, and more killa kans or lootas instead of a deff dread. Finally, I'd really try to include a Big Mek w/KFF in there, since he can give the 4+ obscurement save to both your walkers and your allied Eldar vehicles, even if it means dropping Ghaz.

Good luck!

Grax is right, Horde will almost always beat speed freaks. Especially if you're paired with an Eldar player. I'd recommend a second squad of lootas, and if you're going to use trukks, Gazhgkull is a waste of points. He's nice, but not necesary. A big mek with a KFF is very important for this list, otherwise your trukks will get destroyed fast. Also, don't bother with kans and dreds if you've got trukks because you'll leave them behind and they'll never see combat.

Would it be a better idea if I just ditched both of the Trukks and got 29 Slugga boyz, nob with boss pole and power klaw. Then a unit of 29 shoota boyz, nob with boss pole and power klaw along with two big shootas?

Also the points value has been upped to 1,500 points each so there is a little more space to change things out easier and replace other things. I could see where you guys come from with the speed freak thing, now that I think about it it doesn't sound like a very good idea to take Trukks with no kind of defense or anything.

I'd recommend dropping a battlewagon and switching the nobz to mega nobz. Add in a boy to each squad and another big shoota to the shoota boyz. Use the extra heavy slot for either more kans or another deff dred, because alone, he'll get targeted right away and roasted. You even can make one of them troops too.

The nob in the Boyz squads count as the 30th squad member. What should the new Killa Kans/Deff Dread be equipped with and which one would be better to take? And which Battlewagon should I drop?

Don't mix fast an slow, so either pick the wagons or the walkers.

On wagons don't put guns and a deff rolla wagon, you can't use either effectively. Boarding planks and deff rolla fill the same roll but the deff rolla is more effective, so you only really need one.

Loota groups are way too small, at that size an opponent won't have to kill the unit, just force moral test by killing a single guy, and if they run you lose their use for a turn.

Boyz > Nobz and Kans> Dreads. It's a cost vs. value added thing. Boyz and kans cost less than Nobz and Dreads, but because there are more of them they get more attacks/have more wounds.

Ghazghkull a tricky poney to use. because of S&P he needs a transport, but if you have one transport everyone should have a transport and if everyone has a ride, do you really need his awsome wahg? Alot of points can be save if you just swap him out for another KFF, and you'll get more value this way.

Kans aren't necessarily better than dreds because you can't take kans as troops. For the dreds, I'd recommend close combat dreads to be honest. Put the lootas together or you'll be in the situation Paladin was mentioning. And Ghazgkull is really up to you. his Waaagh!!! is invaluable to a horde army, but he's slow and purposeful and really expensive.
