Default 2500 point Gobbos Unite!!

Here is my escalation league army this Fall. I'm having a hoot playing them thus far. We are at the 1500 point mark now. This is what I am building toward. The part that I'm questioning is the level 3 Goblin Shaman. Otherwise all of these units, save the Monstrous Spider, have done well in play thus far. I know folks waver back and forth on Skarsnik, but the list is built around him, both fluff and strategy. Let me know what you think.

I wouldnt bother with the flinger on the Arok or the shields on the NG Big Bosses, what is your issue with the Shammie?

The BSB should be using the poison banner and allowing the bow gobs poisoned shots.

Thanks for the feedback. I use the shields because in cc it's a 2 point 6+ parry save. Not always effective, but it has saved several combats since I've been playing Night Goblins. In fact I killed a Chaos lord a few games ago with a single save which allowed the Bb to attack, str 6 great weapon hit home and blam, Chaos lord no more. A glorious moment for the gathering night goblins.

The level great shaman helps get more spells and gives a little more of a chance to get off a spell or two per turn. I just wondered if others are having good luck with him? Buffing and hexing is a strategy of this list. I'm hoping that this will be enough magic to compete and get a couple of spells landed per turn.

I like the spider banner. The thing, however, is 85 points. I find the extra point of leadership from the banner of discipline always earns its 15 points back. Especially after the FAQ allowing inspiring presence from your general. This effectively gives this army a 9 leadership bubble when the battle line is in tact. The other thing is the chances are very good at landing Curse of the Spider god as a spell which does the same thing as the spider banner.

Point well taken, so you can stack poison down to 5+, huh? That is interesting.

Yes, you can. Which is why I think it's a great buy for a gobbo force. I do understand your "leadership bubble" desire, but 5+ poison bows is sooooooo nice.

As far as I recall you cannot use Gw and Shield in close combat as the GW requires two hands. The poison banner is a neat idea but with the range of the short bows you'll get 1 turn of shooting and a stand and shoot reaction before the unit is in combat where they typically die like Gobbo's and you lose the BSB rerolls which is so important to goblin armies.

Not saying its a bad idea, but rather something to be wary of.
