This is my 'fun' army that I use and have been having some good success with lately. I have two tarpits which although sizable are not all that large. I considered and did run the Trolls in one unit of 6 but in the end the amount of units that have flaming attacks nowdays they seem to survive better in two smaller units.

Deployment From Left to right

Mangler, Squig Herd, Night Goblins, Trolls, Trolls, Night Goblins, Squig Herd, Mangler

I discovered that with no shooting and little magic my best bet was to completely block the table and try to deny my opponent access to my flanks while giving myself easy access to his. I simply move up in a straight a line as possible and get stuck in, once the Manglers and Squigs have finished off one unit I turn the flanks in and start to crush the units by hitting the flanks and front (in some games and against certain armies and builds both flanks and the front).

I deploy the Night Goblins 8 wide and 5 deep to get the most of the spear attacks while remianing mainly steadfast as with the nets in my meta there isn't that many units that can kill enough T4 (effectively) goblins to negate steadfast.

I was considering changing the Night Goblin Warboss for a Goblin Warboss for the additional leadership but have decided against it purely for fluffy reasons.

Would love to see your thoughts on the army

They do cause issues which is part of the attraction and also why I tend to keep the tactics nice and simple, should lead to less going wrong but often doesn't . They're deployed between my blocks nearest the general but still LD7 with reroll its average but still not reliable.

I have a small 1k Night Goblin army and I think it looks like a blast to play. Having those fanatics can ruin a heavy armored and/or elite unit's day. Let us know how playing this army is going, show us some picture, etc. This might inspire me to pick up some trolls and manglers.

Well at the moment I am concentrating fully on my Tomb Kings but probably will need a break from them at some point so will get images up soon. Still need to purchase some trolls and always keeping my eyes open for some deals :D

My only concern is the lack of magic.

Is one Level 2 enough when magic, being all the rage, means the number of Lvl3-4 magicians wandering around nowadays has increased?

With this army magic isn't high on my list of needs as much of the little waaagh spells are geared to supportthe flanking units. Often its the squigs and trolls that vary the success. Mind you this is my 'fun' army so is nowhere near an optimal build

Troll stupidity is going to be a problem so keep a big boss close to him for that lil extra leadership, also only 1 lvl:2 shaman? that might not be enough, but magic doesnt seem to be the focus of this army.
