I was going to say the same thing. Not only is this fellow not the "uber-nerd" everyone has touted him as, but he paid nothing for the tattoo.

Oh and personally I don't walk around with my shirt off all the time, so I don't consider this tattoo in a "clearly visible" place. If he doesn't like it later, not only does he not have to see it, he can easily hide it from sight.
All that being said, awesome.

It is impressive, purely from a technical standpoint. I don't really approve of tattoos, but from what I understand of how they're done, and how the ink reacts with skin, the tattoo artist clearly has a lot of talent to get that kind of vivid color and detail.

I wouldn't ever get anything like it, partially because tattoos are against my religion, but partially because like people have said-- it's your entire back, and when you get old, and wrinkly, that's going to look terrible. If I were going to throw down for a Warhammer tattoo of some sort, I'd settle for an aquila or an icon of Chaos on a bicep or something, and have it be small-ish.

The guy must be into tattoos (think you'd have to be to let your mate do that to your back). I don't think he'll care what it looks like when he's old and wrinkly, he'll just have an awesome back piece until that time.

and that really is an awesome back piece.
