Some of the people on Twitter were arrested by the Iranian covenant, they are isolating themselves so the western world can't do anything against the way the covenant works there, phone lines are reopened but if you send an SMS to Iran it will be tracked and the one you send your SMS too will be arrested if he/she reacts.

That was someone my age, that makes you think..., Right now, I am very happy about living in an first world country, and I really feel sorry for those in Teheran right now.

i do feel sorry for those who lost their lives, but i don't know who to 'support' the current president (ahmadenijad? is that how it's spelt?) who seems to of been re-elected legally and fairly or the other guy.

Squeak, did we really interfere that much? i knew the west had interferred at some point but didn't realise it was that much.

One thing that annoys me is how everyone, even our politicians, refer to it a regime. The iranian regime blah blah, i know it's what the proper name for it is, but it sounds so negative, you don't hear people going on about Obamas regime, or browns regime. As far as we know the man was elected democratically why can't they acknowledge that? it would go alot further in Iranian/western relations then just having a new bloke in power.

Yeah, we have interferred a lot... but when election results are announced well before they could possibly have been added up the result has to be seen as dubious

By whos method of this counting up? i don't know how the iranians do their voting, they may only allow men to vote, over 21s to vote, no crimianls allowed to vote. They may have 100,000 people doing the counting.

The point is, how do we know that they couldn't of counted the votes in the time allowed, the major TV channels in iran may of said "many are predicting a landslide result for candidate A" whoch was mistranslated cutting out the "many are predicting" part.

ah, but all teh pre-election poles put the difference between the two main parites as very close. preacticly 50/50. when you get a 65/35 result, something has gone wrong. and if there are mass protests all over the country, rather than just in one area, you would have thought that foul play was going on. and when you have it recoreded that a whole vilage did not vote at all, and areas that favoured the loseing party vote overwhelmingly for the wining party.
is that democracy?

Also when they declare the 'result' a couple hours after the polls close either they have been amasingly efficient or were provided with the result.
I'm not for western intervention, and will be happy be an anti-western government in Iran IF it gets fairly elected. As long as people's views are respected then that's fine.

oh no, we shouldnt get involved, but if it gets to out of hand the UN will have to do something (yeah right). i am just saying it is unfair that the voting was rigged (if it was, and if the boot fits...).
