Family doesn't really care to be honest. Still think it's strange that a 16 boy is playing with models.

My wife continuously shakes her head at me and my "corruption" of the kids...

Don't leave us engineers with too much free time on our hands...
we WILL tinker around and build something!!!

Mostly just relieved that I'm not buying drugs instead.

Several armies worth of models equals a lot of drugs.

Family are pretty much on the fence., no real opinion (that they choose to share at least). My wife accepts it and prefers that I paint and play with models than go drinking every day (which is the norm in her extended family)

Work colleagues however... well, lets just say the level of conversation never progresses past what the baggies next season's strip consists of, or the ethics of choosing a fantasy football team. Im a rugby fan myself, which they consider to be a 'lesser' sport (I see, tell me again the last time a player stayed on the pitch with an ear missing lol) A couple of guys at work consistently take the piss out of my hobby, to which I reply at least my liver doesnt have the chemical properties of a beer towel in an inner city nightclub HA!

Anyone else suffer from the same level of conversation at their workplace?

In other words I find you to be very enjoyable to communicate with, and to be far smarter than most sixteen year old humans.
