So my sister's boyfriend has developed some for of Thyroid disorder and is now seriously screwed up. He's depressed, lethargic, etc. and to top it off, he's dragging sis down with him. He also refuses to take his freakin' meds. He's basically too far gone to fix it himself, and at this rate, he could do any fun combination of the following:
a)flunk out of school because he can't get his butt to class on time
c)go into a coma
d)screw my sister's mental health with his own issues
Due to Canada's flawless mental health laws, you can't force an adult to take meds even if it's clearly a good idea. Thyroid meds are effective, cheap, and have no side effects. However, if the depression part kicks in, you stop taking meds because they don't seem worth it. So the only way he can be given the drugs without consent is if he lapses into a coma, at which point he has something like 3 hours to live. And he lives alone and never comes out, so 3 hours without him wouldn't be unusual.
I know I'm complaining on someone else's behalf, but I'm scared as Hell on behalf of my sister, and I wanted to get this off my chest.
Hoping life gets less frakked up,
Camo is the color of cowardice but if the only ones to call you a coward are now a puddle of plasma there isnt a problem.
