QFE Sensible and common sense browsing!

The number of PCs I have had to fix due to crap from nefarious websites.

Sometimes its the same person bringing them to me even when I stress that a good virus program is not always enough and that its what the user is doing that enables it to happen.

First thing I do if I can get on the OS is look at their cache (yes in this day and age some people still do not know how to hide their history) and lo and behold you would not believe how many times I see the words TEEN when scrolling through lol

If I am in a cheeky mood I will show them "how to clear the cache" and show the offending records as an example of why its good practice

The easiest way to fix it would be a linux live boot cd, start it up, scrub the drive and start it again. I mean it's not as if you kept your files and your boot partition were on the same drive now was it?

Dont get me started on that little cookie!

On this subject has anyone tried putting OS on a Micro SD? Apparantly its cheaper than an actual SSD and just as quick!

I have toyed with idea but not got round to experimenting.

didn't read all the posts so not sure were your at

1. Download malwarebytes, even if the problem is sorted its still worth having. Its free btw.

2. Restart your computer in safe mode, then start a full scan of malwarebytes.

3. Sit back and watch as your problem is sorted.

That will fix a good 90% of virus problems for you. For free protection avast is the best around, but malwarebytes is good once you get a computer on your system. Avast is more prevention.

Hope that helps.
