Watch/play damn near everything in 3d!
Dig it guys: I picked up a 27", 3D Ready monitor a few weeks back to go with my Nvidia graphics card finally. After installing the drivers and such I was playing my video games in 3D, which is bad ass on a large level, especially for shooters. However, I was kinda bummed out by the fact that I couldn't watch movies in 3D, TV shows, etc, as I didn't have a BluRay player nor anything in 3D format. Until a few days ago when I went to a friends house with the same monitor/video card setup and saw him watching Avatar in 3D. Now considering that he does NOT have a BluRay player to watch the movie from I was really curious as to how he was doing that (love the movie and have wanted to watch it in 3D since I saw it the day it came out).
The answer: PowerDvD 11.
I went home, installed PDVD11 and gave it a try and I'll be dammed if it worked! Now here is the kicker: the program will convert, ON THE FLY!!!!, everything you might want to watch/view into 3D.
Every picture I have ever taken on a digital camera and all the movies and TV shows that I have on my hard drive, 3D. Some pics and videos won't work correctly but that is not really a big deal when you think about it, especially when you are suddenly able to watch/view so much in 3D with the program. I am pretty sure that PDVD12 also does this but that is not the one I have. I have to say, there is nothing quite like watching the new Spartacus episode in 3D, or Saving Private Ryan, or 300 (the scene where Leonidas goes on that fucking rampage in the first battle was jaw dropping to saw the least), or pretty much any show you like. It doesn't work for online video or streaming video so far as I know, but for anything that you have on your hard drive it will.
Oh yeah, and then there is porn. Yeah, porn, take a look at my title if that bothers you and ignore this part. You think Avatar was awesome in 3D, wait till you see your favourite 'actresses/actors' in a monster gangbang in 3D. Mind you, it may make you want to duck for cover at certain.... moments lol, but the 3D gives it a whole new meaning. I showed a friend this and he told me it felt like he was a peeping tom looking in someones window because it looked so real thanks to the 3D.
All in all, if you have the cash for the 3D Ready monitor (must be a monitor that does 120Hz refresh rate) and PDVD11, go get it. You won't regret it in the least.
one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?
