the Hunter is not intended for Anti-troop work. It's intended as a cross between medium bombers and heavy fighters. Intended to take out fixed emplacements on Star ships prior to boarding actions but Huron's forces have learned that it can be used in larger tank battles as an effective Tank Killer or fotress buster.

Why the change in bombs? Those are the same rules the normal Thunderhawk uses.

You mentioned it, I pointed it out. I would look up the old rules on VDR and make the Lascannons long barreled if they are for what you said they are. 6ft range in scale makes more sense then 4ft.

Vaz If I'm honest, I'd like to see more Thunderhawk Options rather than a whole new type. For example, instead of purely having Heavy Bolters for Close In Defence, one dedicated for boarding actions could swap its ineffective Heavy Bolters for 4 Twin Linked Multi-Meltas. Another could be dedicated for Low Level Bombing Runs, which it supports with 4 Quad Flamestorm Cannons.

One dedicated for armour hunting could take Twin Linked Lascannons, and it can upgrade its standard 4x TL'd Heavy Bolters for either 4x Sponsons of 2 Twin Linked Heavy Bolters, 4x Twin Linked Assault Cannons, or 4x Hurricane Bolters.

Then there could be some other weaponry - instead of Hellfire/Bomb Racks, what about Whirlwind Launchers? Thunderfire Cannons?

Instead of a Troop Bay and Assault Ramp, turn it into some sort of bomber, or even perhaps a nose mounted Demolisher Cannon? Thunderfire Cannon? Conversion Beamer?

Then there's the other actual gunship modes it could have. For example, a Thunderhawk is currently a Drop Ship Transport/Low-Medium Tier Support Weapons Platform/Bomber, and it doesn't do either particularly well.

And I know that I for one, if I could take a Thunderhawk with a Nose Mounted Thunderfire Cannon, Dorsal Mounted Thunderfire Cannon, 2 Wing Pylon Mounted Thunderfire Cannons, and 4 Twin Linked Assault Cannon Sponsons, I'd be snapping one up straight away. "Infantry in cover, THIS". 16 Blast Templates and 16 Reroll to hit Rending Shots? Yes please.

Marneus Calgar I like it a lot! Its pretty competitive, I think it's well priced, and nicely thought out. I think what djinn means, you've mentioned the Turbo Laser Cannon in the description "on occasion have mounted a turbo laser cannon", would be cool to see in the options.

(Choas Datasheet) Thunderhawk Hunter

So I was going to scratch build a normal Thunderhawk and saw it's a Thunderhawk that was captured by my Chaos Forces, but I had a bit of inspiration to make a new type of Thunderhawk. With some thinking I came up with the Thunderhawk hunter. Conceptually it's intended to be a point unit in ship boarding actions, but when utilized in ground based actions it's a dedicated Anti-armor hunter that can be outfited for the purpose of bunker breaking with the addition of more missles/bombs or Fortress breaking with the addition of a Turbolaser. What do you all think?
