Tzeen Qhayshek So this is why they suggest to use notebooks during the game...

Definitely not cheap. It is his fault he forgot.

dragonkingofthestars painting you army como works as long as you enviment color cordinated, yellow may work in a desert but you stand out like in on a white board. it seems guardsmen are more pron to this due to them being painted camo, and duller colors then space marines.

hungryugolino Well, if it was an accident, who cares? It's a one-off thing, and his army's general will probably receive a visit from the commissariat in the near future.

:p

"How did you miss half a dozen Astartes? Half a dozen!"

KingOfCheese I think its a little cheap, but your opponent will notice after turn 1 anyway.

Jadcrofts i like the camo idea and in a real war its the same, and tbh no1 wants to advertise where their powerfull units are

Inquisitor Varrius At most, you should get one round of shooting with this. I doubt your opponent will go "Gee, my tanks keep disappearing after that cleverly concealed dev squaf fires!" They should notice after a turn or two.

Lucio heh, wasnt intentional at all. Black and red are my favorite color combination so thats what I painted them and I also tend to wear dark colors. He watched me set up and they didnt move all game.

May or may not happen again as I'm finally giving my devs some much needed attention in the field of paints and they tend to be a tad more bold now.

Inquisitor Varrius Calm down, penguin. Both of the mentioned tricks (combat tactics and camo) are more than legal. Yes, sneaky paint schemes might seem underhanded, but if you can't see an opponent's unit, ask where it is. He's not denying they exist, or intentionally misleading. The unit is either placed in a colour-coordinated environment or it looks like one big unit. As long as you tell the other guy whatever he asks to know, it's both fair and legal.

Giant Fossil Penguin Yes it bloody well is cheap!!

You're not playing the game here, rather you are trying to hide your units through outside means. It would be fair enough if your opponent didn't pay attention to where you'd put your unit; hell, it happened to me a while ago, and when I realised what had happened, that they'd been deploying whilst I'd been messing about and so a Dev unit had been put in the perfect place to ambush me, I was annoyed as hell with myself. And if that was as far as you were going, that would be cool. But now, you want to deliberatley obscure you opponent's view by outside means.
If you both like to play hidden set-up, or do this kind of thing anyway, then go for your life. But if this isn't a routine thing, then it is without doubt a cheap trick. Hell, if you had to ask then it suggests that you already know this.
