they did it i think to make ppl re-think their armies and remove some stagnation on the "standard pts build".
Was having a chat with Brian A back in the summer about changing the pts at the UK gt's to add variaty. His worry was though that would extend the tourney potentially and they are often pressed for time as it is. And that dropping a game to accomadate this would no doubt be met with even more abuse along side changing the pts value.

|The Wraithlord||Here in Canada the tournament list size is a flat 1700 iirc.|

|Too_hot_to_handle||1750 seems to make more sense to me than 1850, but i play 1500 point games and am in the uk so shouldn't affect me|

Not really, GT's have always been 1500pts.
As has the design teams armies when they test the Codex's.

GT point change
Yesterday I took a brief glance at the 40k GT rules. Though most every army conceivable is legal including Armored company from WD ???. I found it strange that the point level has dropped to 1750. I don't know the reasoning behind this, but find it disturbing that everyone I know including posters here and on other sites base their armies on 1850.
Will this point change (other than GTs) affect your army points?
