ntaw If you have the turrets that would be an ideal change for more anti-armour, though I personally dislike playing auto/las predators as you almost never get both LCs on the same target and often the Autocannon that you have on top is wasted on something you need S9 AP2 to deal with. I would sooner take two Predators with only Twin-Linked Lascannons and no sponsons, ensuring more hits and less wasted shots and allowing you 60 points to play around with. I'd go one step further there and drop a single DC model to put both Tactical squads in Rhinos and give both squads Meltas over Flamers since they will be mobile. So,

elsmiff how about swapping the baals for lascannon preds? May offer more long range tank hunting capabilities??

ntaw That's a pretty sweet plan, @Dawnstar . I have done similar in small games, my unbound 500 point list involves a 5 man RAS w/ 2x IP and a MG. Bad dice have caught my Sergeant out front trying to make that 3" melta range making a quick waste of the points, but I hardly hold that against the Gunslinger approach. Plus it's only 5 points more than a Power Fist, which is a hell of a lot more effective a points filler than Melta Bombs somewhere.

I sometimes will use them when I plan on deep striking an Assault Marine squad, kitted out as:

10x Assault Marines
-2x Meltagun
-2x Infernus Pistol

I'll combat squad them with the Meltaguns in one squad and the Infernus pistols in the other.

ntaw 15 points for a 3" melta range? If you're that close you're charging, and so long as it's not a Walker you should survive with Krak grenades. Normal Melta Guns still get to shoot Overwatch, and having an extra attack in CC is cool and all but I'm not convinced. Where would you fit them into the list, @KeXun ? Typically I play my Melta RAS Sergeant with a Power Fist and the squad deploys via Drop Pod. Love that shit.

KeXun My Personal Opinion i have found for BA the Melta Pistol is perfect for some anti tank with it being a pistol it is still handing in a Overwatch and getting ready for a charge but i Agree great list

I do think, though DC will be costly to include with Deathwing. The way I run those squads they come out to 250/265 points per 5 models, which usually means no frills in the other detachments at this points level. I also prefer White Scars to Ravenwing, but this will all show up in another thread once I get a chance.

Bang on. Love it, and would love to hear how it goes. You're a little soft on the anti armour with all those assault cannons, and those Missile Launchers will go nowhere against many things with armour because they can't blow up anything being AP4. Just get in close and cause some mayhem! I might suggest trying to DS the Melta squad so that if you are indeed up against something with a high AV you can pretty reliably show up right next to it T2 (unless you have some bad dice luck). If you have the models, you could always swap out the Tactical squads for some Devastators and Scouts. I played 4x MLs in one of my first games of 7th in my BA army and it worked out real nice.

elsmiff I would agree to the fragiosos but I dont really have the models for it which is why i used tactical squads. and ye, the power weapons would really boost up my close combat abilities.

As for my DA/BA list, this could be a basis. could swap tact squads and preds for some deathwing or ravenwing dont you think?

ntaw Drop all the Melta Bombs to give your priest a Power Sword (remember, he's WS5) and swap the extra hand flamer in your Assault squad for two regular Flamers. Going any further than that and I would be ditching the Tactical squads for Fragiosos in Drop Pods, and I'd love to see two Power Axes instead of a Power Fist in the Death Company but that's a 5 points over for making the 1500 mark.

Aside from that solid list and I'll be thinking about that BA/DA post you made as well, that's by far my favourite combo for T1 DSing fun.
