darkreever Its not necessarily a GM abandoning their work, sometimes people express interest but when things get started they vanish off the face of the earth.

I've had several RP's where players lost interest and simply stopped posting. No warning, no word, nothing but silence; and thats rather disheartening as a GM because not only did someone pull out but they didn't even have enough respect for you or their fellow players to give the courtesy of saying something.

Why do people go through the effort of making an rp if they just abandon it?

One can only hope..
Could you direct me to one of the less confusing, active roleplays please?
This would be much appreciated

I know, I know. Not sure why it's in the 'Active RPs' section then... I sorta posted this before I checked the last post.

BrotherOfBone Name: Reimus Sturm

Homeworld: St. Josmane's Hope

Age: 29

Role: Cadian 375th Commanding Officer

Appearance: Reimus is a man of many sharp features. His nose is what many would call a 'ski slope', and his prominent cheek bones cause many to refer to him as a 'skeleton'. He possesses a pair of brown eyes with close-cut brown hair, though this would usually be covered by a helmet or cap. He is clean-shaven most of the time, however during prolonged conflicts he does get rather stubbly. Reimus wears a navy blue parade uniform, though when he is in conflict he tends to don the olive-green and white battle armour of the Cadian 375th, replete with his ranking, of course.

Personality: Sturm is a rather untrustworthy fellow, and would sell his own mother to Orks to get him appraisal from his peers. He is, you might say, a 'backstabber', a role he plays quite well within the Cadian military organization. It is, after all, what got him where he is. While a rather weedy combatant he is not afraid to use superior weaponry to prevail, which he is something he has practiced on many occasions. One of his better features is that he is an excellent tactician. Reimus understands things that a simple commoner would not, overlapping arcs of fire, use and application of cover, squad positions. He is aware of the loadout of almost every squad in his Company, every tank, every Vendetta, and he knows how these interlock together to perform to their maximum potential, even when left with rather measly forces.

Background: Reimus was born to a pair of convicts on St. Josmane's Hope, a prison world in the Cadian System. His military career really began when he was given the chance to join the Guard after successfully ratting out several of his fellow convicts and unearthed a plot to summon a Demon within the prison, something he was blissfully unaware of at the time.

He began as a Conscript, as all Guardsmen do. He spent most of his time cowering behind the braver of his fellow Conscripts and, after he was the only survivor of a charge through a minefield in the battle for Thesus Hive he was rewarded with a promotion (if it could so be called) to Guardsman. He showed a natural talent for leadership and, after his squad Sergeant was unfortunately murdered in his sleep by one of his men, he took up the role. Reimus earned the respect of his men by keeping them alive through the toughest conflicts, and taught them many of the skills he had learned in the prison he grew up in.

The change from rat to hero was visible in the eyes of his superiors, and after the Company Commander was unfortunately murdered in his sleep by one of his men, Reimus was, again, the first to step up to the challenge. However, the years of politics and battle have hardened him into a scumbag, a man who would happily sacrifice the lives of his men for another inch of ground.

During the battle for Cadia in the 13th Black Crusade he St. Josmane's Hope to see his parents, he found that they had been slaughtered by Black Legionnaires and has since held a special place in his cold, dank heart for them.

Sturm cares little for the culture of Goidelaer II, and barely understands the language, relying on translators to speak on his behalf. He viewed it as simply another assignment, another backwater world that he would sit on for years of his life, until the Space Hulk came. Now he is out of his comfort zone, fighting for his life, defending a city against the brink of extinction.

Well dang.

Wargear: Carapace Armour, Boltgun, Power Sword, Autopistol
