Seeing as Fortune is a blessing I don't know why...but let me take a look at the FAQ...

Ah I see the problem. Poor wording of the question combined with a short answer that doesn't refer back to the actual rules:

Q: The Farseer Psychic Powers rules state that they do not require the Eldar Psyker to have line of sight to the target. Does this mean that they can be used by an Eldar psyker embarked on a Transport? (p28)
A: No.
From what I'm gathering this SHOULD say is "Can a Farseer use his powers out of a transport to affect another unit?"

Well it's not like the Farseer under the current rules was spending any time in the transport anyways. Even without this bad bit of FAQing you couldn't Fortune a unit outside of the vehicle anyways. Which according to the entire internet was the "Worst. Thing. Ever.". Again.

2 Months we have a new Eldar book. Until then keep on trucking. Eldar aren't good -right now-. Doesn't mean they can't become better -later-. With the nature of these books I really think we have a solid chance of the 6th ed books being very well balanced and solid. That goes for Eldar too.

Anyone else wondering were Ward and Cruddace are at right now when it comes to writing new books? I'm beginning to wonder if they're up to their eyes in Fantasy stuff right now and can't be assed to doing any 40k stuff.

Actually the rules for psychic powers are what killed those first. Not a psychic shooting attack? Then it can only affect the vehicle or those inside. A psychic shooting attack? Only works from fire points.

I'm sure we'll see some changes coming to how Eldar and their powers work, but I don't expect them to break the system either.

Vaz Back in 4th, Eldar were Rape.

Eldar have no right to complain against Marines being "so well looked after"; Dark Eldar, Tau and Necrons used to be far worse done to, then their books dropped and they gained new power. In fact, the only armies which have lost post with new books, and even more, with new editions, is Tyranids; and back in 3rd, they were decent, and 4th, were utter rape.

Loli The thing is that the Eldar thing is mostly down to age, Tau, Cron and DE were all in the same position and now look at them. Tau looks to slaughter flyer lists and is just all round awesome, Necron is a powerhouse, DE seem solid enough. Heck C:SM is one of the weakest codexes now. Plus with the rate the Xenos are getting done, there is a risk of Marines getting left behind by all accounts.

Ouroboros Actually started eldar back in late 3rd in highschool. But dropped the game for many years due to being excessively poor. Even have both 3rd books, which was nice of GW giving options for different craftworlds along with characters for a few, like the named warlock. Her armour of vaul rules are more associated with dark angels these days however, the whole Ld check counting as armour save thing.

Vaz So much so that Marines are poster boys is that they are among the worst of the codexes.

Eldar are worst done to now, but if you played them back in 4th, you could've jogged right on.

Calistrasza Marines have always been the poster boys. Before it was the Ultravanillamarines it was the Crimson Fists. People naturally gravitate towards the segment of anything that seems like it gets the most attention- I got my apartment because the complex administrator lives beneath me, so I know anything that breaks will be fixed here ASAP.

So, marines get all the fluff, the novels, the pictures, the short stories, the posters, the bakers, the candlestick makers, and the rest of us wait 11 or so years between codex releases.

Also each edition changes in the way that whatever was the hottest ticket is now irrelevant (foot for 4th, tanks for 5th, flyers for 6th) so if they ever bring out a 7th expect all those flyers to be nerfed to uselessness its part of the cycle, make people buy the newest and the best if you resist you get left behind with a mediocre army

just like allies is a marketing ploy to buy more codexes for 2-3 units in your army.
That was GW's updating strategy in 5th, but 6th has resulted in a lot of fairly well balanced armies with balanced options.

Also, Tau already killed the All-Flyer army. So the nerfs on flyers have already begun.
