ew_holmes Not sure if your Fire Dragons can shoot both the quadcannon and the heavy bolters. are they not on 2 separate floors?

Oh you say. Vehicles are worse in 6th... Which means you brought no meltas? Dun Dun Duh....

This list could seriously blow you away early methinks. Would be expensive to put together, but really cool and awesome.

Puts down 10 tanks and 9 bikes.

Yep - really cool. I never brought this many tanks, even back in 5th.
Bastion 125 +Quad
Fire Dragons 112 +TH and CS

Farseer BA 175

Autarch 135 +Jetbike/Power Lance/Mandiblasters/fusion gun

Jetbikes 66

Warp Hunter x3 375
Fire Prism x2 230
Night Spinnter x3 345

1998

Each dragon squad goes into a bastion, the Exarch handles the Quad and intercepts when flyers arrive, this allows the rest of the fire dragons to fire each of the 4 Heavy bolters which are all on one side. If there are no flyers then the squad puts out 16 long range accurate anti-infantry shots. When you need to you can shoot the melta guns and allow the rest of the weaposn to auto fire.

The heavys upports do what they do

Jetbikes do what they do

The AUtarch is equipped with a power weapon which we have chosen to be a lance, hes only str 4 in CC but other than that basically the same. You could also give him a power maul for str 5, just whatever preference.

Good Range, Good anti- tank, good anti- infantry, good anti-fyler. also very mobile

ew_holmes Depends on your play style man. If you like 'combatty' Eldar, I'd go with list 1. If you like shooty, go with the first list - the second will give you more survivability, no doubt, but with the first list, there will be nothing left alive to attack you!

If you feel you are going to face a fair amount of air, go with the Fortress list, and take a Lascannon or Quadcannon. Fire Dragon Exarch is a monster on those guys (ignores jink + reroll failed pens), and you can get one in with both of those for 112 points, not bad.

I think that 10 firedragons is overkill, unless you are facing units of >5 terminators/nobs on a regular basis. the 5 will be enough to kill almost any tank, and you could use the points you save to bolster your jetbikes with more cannons, get another heavy in, or whatever you want, really.

DivineEdge TBH - one or two fliers isn't that scary. They'll give me trouble but the second they stop swooping they are toast.

What is scary is a flyerwing - and 12 skyfire s6 shots won't do too much vs those. I could take a bastion or defence line, but I'd lose all my super mobility.

And anyways, if you spent so many points on fliers it will even easier to kill everything else. Warp hunter can seriously mess you up. I'm laying down more templates than IG.

So I now have 3 2k lists to choose from. Which do you think would be best?

1st one seems traditional - a 5thish list (the mechdar). Would do OK I guess.
The castle up list seems different, and the 3rd is just downright strange, but it would be awesome.

ew_holmes Nasty. Just a heads up - Air is gonna hump your face. Blast weapons (AKA all your heavies) cannot attack air.

Good luck brotha. Perhaps swap out the 3 nightspinners for 2 firestorms.

ew_holmes How are you fitting 8 heavy choices in?

In the second list, will drop vypers for more bikes. I know the avatar isn't necessary, but I'm worried I'll get completely rolled over if I have literally no close combat.
1) The unit has to shoot at whatever the Emplaced Gun shoots at, so make sure it is the MEQ unit you want to kill or you are wasting all those shots (Emplaced guns simply replace the models weapon, you still have to all shoot at the same unit)

2) Whatever you want

3) Warlocks are good in CC< you can take the points from the serpent and the points from the Avatar and get a unit of Warlocks+powers. They are very tough in the CC department and have Heavvy Flamers.
