Welcome to Heresy! As for the Thousand Sons, I'd ask Wraithlord. He's our Ahriman! Good luck on the hobby, and try asking on the 40k section. This section is more for greeting new guys.
Welcome to the heresy. as for the question they can attack in CC as long as the have WS and an A value. Not having anything, but a bolter just means they are either punching or using the bolter as a club.
Welcome to the forums Annabelle! Don't worry too much about posting in the wrong place, everyone does it when they are new. I take it Blackhiker has answered your question? If not you will definitely get more help in the 40k rules section, here's a link.
Yes, Tsons can most certainly CC. They do so as if charging through cover though, so they go last,as they are slow and ponderous and have no frag grenades. What is cool though is since they are slow and ponderous they can charge even after firing rapid fire weapons.
I try to keep mine out of CC as they are a more shooty unit, but sometimes there are no other options.
ok i try to avoid cc with the sons for most things but theyre trying to get within 24' so eventual combat will be likely. when that happens though remember these 4 things:
1/theyre marines so theyre toughish already
2/theyre also fearless marines
3/ 4+ invun means halving any pw, power fists, mc's wounds and the like
4/force weapon! *bonk* no no sm termie captain :nono:
although bearing in mind no.2, dont let them get swamped by masses of models, no good.
i fink that just about covers it
