Default Second time

Hey guys, I've been nosing around for a while and decided to resign up since I had forgotten my old sign on. I been playing tyrainds since the start of 4th edition but only with my buddy. I have also dabbled with eldar & chaos. I'm now looking at space marines but don't know what faction to try. Thought some one my be able to give me some insight on the different ones so that I could make a deision before I invest my hard earned money.

Welcome back to Heresy Online.

The various marine codexes offer different things so it really depends on your playing style.

If you want up close and brutal hand to hand combat then you should probably select Blood Angels, or maybe Black Templars, although the Black Templar codex is quite old and I would avoid that for the short term as they will likly replace that some time soon (12 to 18 months is my guess).

For close quater fire fighting I would suggest DA, and maybe Space Marines with Vulcan He'stan special character. Normal Marines are a good counter all army, but the codex is also a bit dated and it can be hard to get the best from the Power armoured boys.

Space wolves are a good all round army, with strong hand to hand elements and some devastaing fire power in the form of long fangs.

Lastly Grey Knights have some of the most powerful rules in the game but can be a bit tricky to get right if you want to have a characterful army.

It all depends on how you want to play really.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

Hello and welcome to Heresy Online.

As humakt said, the SM Chapter that will suit you best will differ depending on how you want to play the game. But going into your local game store and flicking through the SM Codex might be able to aid you in making the decision.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Regards,
Jake.
