the one who brought up skill was Tyrannus. I concede that you did not mention skill and only that you like it. I, obviously, do not like it while sober, and I can never actively listen to it willingly. I can stand it, and almost enjoy it occasionally when I am completely hammered, in which it has the effect it has on most, which is why I kept saying its music designed for being shit faced or stoned out of ones mind. but I usually wake up the next morning puking from the alcohol.

I have listened to dubstep, and analyzed it in that sitting room listen to music smoking a non-existent pipe kind of way. And while its interesting stuff, and I do listen to all kinds of noisy ass punk,

I really just don't like it, although there are stand outs, so much of it sounds the same. Which is ironic because I really go for the "Drums N Bass" stuff from the 90's and 2000's, guess I am just dating myself or something, I dunno either way mate, enjoy your "devil music" as an old lady once called it in my presence. More power to ya.

I LOVE how people misinterpret what I say.

I clearly wasn't bashing death metal. I was saying someone who didn't like it and made the same assumptions as you would say something akin to that. Someone who is ignorant of death metal.

To me that is what death metal is. You hear one song you've heard them all, (especially the viking stuff). But I KNOW there is more to it than that, more to understand and more to appreciate. but it's not my type of music so I wouldn't want to know more. Does that give me the right to dislike it? Of course. But does it give me the right to bash the entire genre? No because I don't fully understand it and I doubt I shall anytime soon.

Except you guys think you understand everything about the genre when I am probably certain you've only heard a couple of songs. Because why would you listen to more if you hate it so?

And on the price: I am no DJ and I am quoting the prices my mate told me he paid and I have always been told you ahve to spend at least over 1000 on the decks for the quality and longevity.

But I see it akin to someone who likes to play the guitar. If he really is passionate about it, I don't think he would settle with just a 99 fender copy and a 30 amp; he'd go all out with an expensive guitar, amp and maybe even get better strings and different knobs. Same principle on drummers or violinist.

Yes you can get it on the cheap. But if you are really into the type of music you play I am pretty sure you will spend extra.

EDIT: Oh and those kittens weren't "playing" dubstep. Where is the wobble bass? One of the mainstays of dubstep? Where's the drop? You have just given us two kittens on decks, and just shows how much you know about dubstep.

Y'see, this is a lot more constructive

I don't know what it is with you KhainiteAssassin, but whenever your opinion differs from someone else's you have to claim that they're wrong and you're right regardless of everything stated.

I personally like dubstep, and hate rap (among other things) but I don't tell people who listen to it that it's shit. I have a friend who walks up to people and if they're talking about something he doesn't like, he just butts in with "That stuff (ranges from metal of any kind to Lord of the Rings) is shit." and persists with it to the point of murdering him. I have fucking Aspergers and I don't do that. No clue what's wrong with him but it's just plain rude.

So much anger when opinion is all that is necessary. If you don't like it, you don't have to comment.

I enjoy Dubstep all the time, along side things like Death Metal, Speedcore, Jazz and Classical. I found it on Youtube of all places but don't remember how i happened upon it in the first place.

For me; Its the bass, especially the drop, that I like. Just listen to some Speedcore and you should understand.

(and by that im talking about rap, if you cant tell)
Someone who likes Metal slagging off Dubstep? Is this a joke? Is it being recorded for some candid camera action? Please say yes.

You might as well have replace all your text with 'Hi i'm KhainiteAssassin and I'm a massive tool, a giant swinging sagging dong of a man' as that's the impression your posts are giving readers. Your stance that everyone who doesn't like Metal is a moron (which is seems to be) only proves one person to be a moron.

Sorry, but its time for me to put my 2 pence in.

Firstly, I listen to Metal (From Diecide & Slayer to Mushroomhead, Sabaton & Deftones), and Electronica (DnB like Dillinja, Spor NOT PENDULUM, Breakcore like Vsnares, Spectre, etc) to Classical and Old NY Jazz (DUKE ELLINGTON BITCHES!) So trying not to sound pretencious, I AM open minded about music.

This is all OPINION

I have also not listened to alot of Dubstep, but most of what I've come across (Youtube/LastFM/Spotify) does sound really cheap and rushed (Sample-sample-sample-Break/pause-WOBBLE-WOBBLE-WOBBLE), and could do with some pretty heavy mastering.

However, some of it has actually been pretty good, and consists more of a Bass hook fed through a Dist and 3 or 4 LFO's and Filters. But I have noticed alot of (what I think is) good dubstep, is actually produced by DnB producers from 1992-today.

To somewhat derail this, If your like me, and think DnB/Electro is "Yay" but Dubstep is "Meh" may I be so bold as to reccomend a little Drumstep? Or just a noisey video of a rave cat.

Now I'm just waiting for some muppet to proclaim its just Dubstep again.

It is just dubstep, and I am the father!

Wow, this topic really kept going? I remember abandoning it after KA poisoned everyone against the idea that dubstep is terrible with his...questionable tactics. Let this thread die, thank you.
