Default Any drummers out there?

Are there any drummers out there in Heresy land?

I picked up a kit a while back for my daughter but the more I sit and look at the thing the more I want to learn to play myself, but I suck! Also, suffering from a form of tendinitis in my thumb may have made playing guitar and bass a thing of the past.

I'm OK with the sticks, I could obviously be a lot better but I'm getting there, I just don't seem to be able coordinate my feet, no matter how slow I go.

Are there any tips or tricks I could try to increase my hand/foot coordination, any exercises that would be useful?

If you know of any good you tube lessons etc post them up too.

Cheers in advance!

Also, Ewoks eat people.
Never forget that.

I'm not the best drummer in the world but I do understand the basics.

The best thing you can do it just sit down and start wailing away on them. It gives you the chance to get used to where the different drums are located.

From there I'd recommend going on youtube and finding songs with apparent drum openings.

My personal recommendation is leper messiah by metallica. It's opening it fairly easy to get.

six cymbal hits and then three hits on each tom tom, that's the basic add in foot when you feel comfortable and that's the basic.
